With all the changes surrounding the basketball team. Is there something that you would like to happen? Anything from another transfer to a total stud that decides to play for the Zips.

Mabye you just want to dream for something that might take years like the last peice of the puzzle.

I got the idea from reading an article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about the Bhullar brothers. (thanks timmyboy for the idea)

Let the dreaming begin!

I would have liked to have signed Michael Jordan's son.

But at this point, I just hope that the final 2011 scholarship goes to a player that could be considered a recruiting coup.

I've seen both of the Jordan boys as seniors the last two years and I can tell you -- the younger brother who is headed to UCF in the fall is FAR better than his just transferred brother. But neither is an NBA quality player.

--edit-- I was off by a year -- Marcus will be a Soph in Orlando next fall. Wow, how time flies. And speaking of which -- I thought it was a joke when someone said the school better wear Nikes. I guess I was wrong!

I would like to see LeBron find a loophole in the NCAA rules getting him back four years of college eligibility and decide that instead of staying in Cleveland, running off to Chicago or New York or elsewhere, he is going to return to his hometown of Akron and a team that actually has a coach right now in order to win those championships he so longs for.

Hey you said dream.

If we have to stay within the confines of NCAA rules. I would love to see the Zips land a blue-chip, NBA potential recruit from right around the corner at St.V named Jakarr Sampson. Paired up with Zeke in the frontcourt and a stretch 4 like Euton our frontcourt would be an absolute nightmare.

If we are going away from specific personnel, I would like to see us run an offensive scheme that focuses more on dribble drives and kick-outs than on isolation post ups and spot up shooting. I would also like to see us mix up our defenses more as opposed to running primarily out of a half-court man defense. Throw in a little 2-3 zone, 1-3-1 zone, full-court man pressure, extend a zone out to full court. Keep your opponent on their toes a little more.

I tend toward the bird in the hand being worth more than two in the bush. So my biggest dream would be to see huge improvements from both the veteran Zips players and the incoming freshmen. I'd like to see them all add a star or 10 points to their ratings by all the "experts," and for the Zips to come out of nowhere and be the Butler of the 2010-11 season.

Dambrot moves to the Cavs to coach them and I become the head coach of the Akron Zips and be the youngest coach to make an appearance in the NCCA championship vs Brad Stevens and Butler...that's my dream...but im in college so not going to happen...

The latest signs are that he is strongly considering Xavier. But I believe that the longer he waits the better chance we might have of getting him.
