ditchrider1
For those gamers out there waiting for the July 13th release or NCAA Football 11 our worst fear was confirmed by Adam Thompson NCAA Football Game designer via Operation Sports.... Adam_Thompson_EA NCAA Football Designer Re: All 120 School Stadiums in NCAA 2011? "Akron and FIU are the only stadiums that aren't in. FIU will be playing in their old stadium in NCAA 11. Akron will be playing in a generic stadium, as it was requested we don't use the Rubber Bowl." Well this seems par for the course for Akron, another let down. I know it is only a video game but seriously how may times can we as Akron fans and Northeast Ohioians get kicked in the groin, pushed down and get back up. Even Can't got their "stadium" in the game. The Info wasn't finished in time last year to be included...understandable. Anyone want to bet that this omission can be blamed at least partly on the Marketing dept at the U of A? From what I was told by this Adam guy a few years ago, the Universities have to meet EA Games more than halfway to notify of stadium upgrades and uniform changes and allow them to come in and take hundreds of HD quality photos of the stadiums to scan in, and convert them to a graphical format. As of when they were erecting the steel for the pressbox side, EA Sports still had no idea we were even building a new stadium. Us fans had to notify him and send in the plans for the stadium. I really hope the game company just ran out of time or whatever because if the U's sports marketing dept dropped the ball on something else it would be close to the breaking point for me. I am awaiting this Adam guy to get back(if he does) with what went wrong, those who care I will let you know. In the meantime, I am going to go to the Zips online store and purchase a new Home replica football jersey....uh oops, they don't carry them? No worries, I will just head to the team shop at the stadiu.....uh nope not finished yet? Well maybe I will email the sports marketing dept to see when they will have replica football jerseys avail.....uh already did that a few times and never got a response. ZachTheZip
Nobody's fault but UA's. AKRON has to contact them. They don't go around trying to get permission to go into new stadiums, if we don't request them it's just less work for them. Bull.

I wish you and others of your ilk would stop spreading lies about the stadium team shop being incomplete. All you have to do to prove to yourself that you are wrong is consult any of several threads on this board and read the postings of ZipsNation experts who assured us the stadium would be finished by last September. On a related note, I must admit that my prediction that it would be done by the end of 2009 have proven overly optimistic.
zipzippy
Thats weird our stadium isnt going to be on the game this year because our new stadium was on the psp version of last years game.

bobbyake
EA sucks. I doubt Akron had anything to do with it at all. They don't even make the game for the Wii. When they did in 09, it was worse than a gamecube/ps2 version.
ditchrider1
So according to the EA Teambuilder site, Florida International has their own stadium and Akron is the only one missing. they do not even have Akron listed as an option with their generic stadium....the only team not even on their for a stadium selection...lol They do have the new uniforms from last year including the away version of the new blues we got in the opener however they white versions look terrible. The blue numbers are royal blue? I hope it is not that way in real life or the game...why us? I will post some photos of the uni's later

You hit the nail on the head...EA sports does not have one superior sports game over a genre that has a competitor let alone the ones where they dont. Id rather play NFL2k5 for regular Xbox than play any new Madden edition.
ditchrider1
********UPDATE*********** Got some info as to why The Info was omitted from this years game. From a source who is a moderator at Operation Sports and speaks regularly to the developers of the game and he was told that when EA Sports was coming initially to photograph the stadium for the game the weather was awful and they couldn't make the trip due to the snow...I believe the studios are in California or Florida. They then tried to reschedule and the U of A Athletic director gave them a hard time and was not cooperative. WTF Anyone up for emailing YouTube Tom to confirm this? Oh and by the way Akron is the only school who's stadium is not in the game, Florida International made it So Akron you stand alone!
ZachTheZip
Is it really a "generic" stadium if we're the only ones to have it? Wouldn't that make it unique to us in the game?
ditchrider1
Is it really a "generic" stadium if we're the only ones to have it? Wouldn't that make it unique to us in the game? No because there are some of the bowl games that are played in baseball stadiums that EA cannot get the liscensing to duplicate i.e. SanFrancisco Bowl, International Bowl so they also share the generic stadium. Its the same stadium that all schools that have been omitted have shared for a few years now...and now Akron is the lone school left. It could almost pass for the Info if it weren't for the endzone seats.

They are outdated by about 4 years. This is the current stadium for FIU, based on Team Builder it looks nothing like that. If there is any consolation the new uniforms (and the 2008, they call them 2009 unis) are in the game.

I have an idea....why don't we put "ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS ZIPS" on every highway bridge in Summit County. Soon every driver passing through will be in awe. That way nobody can possibly forget about us!!!!! Classy and effective.
zipseuph
so before I got a chance to read this I sent the question to CHA CHA "Is akrons new infocision stadium in NCAA 11?" the answer I received. "Akron plays thier home games in InfoCision stadium and are currently coached by J.D Brookhart." I got this answer last night
