lance99
I can't stand this. I'm tired of seeing a bunch of OSU gear at Akron sporting events. I'm tired of Bars around here catering to everyone except UA. I'm tired of UA being looked at as a joke. I'm tired of there being more OSU fans in this area than Akron fans. I have been bragging about UofA (I've even called in to all bets are off and talked up UA) and now they come out and give me this? they let a DII school ( I don't care what it's actually called they're DII) welk into our house (that cost a lot of money to build) and embarrass us. I'm sorry but I've given Icoach the benefit of the doubt, and he has let me down. I'll start going to games again when they can field a team that isn't a complete emarrasment. I'm not even talking competing for anything. just not embarrasing. I couldn't agree more. Looking at the pictures from today's game in which my brother was at(I did not watch, or listen today because of work). With that loss, you will drive away fans, even the die-hards

ZippyforPresident
I have to believe that under JD this team would have at least been competitive against Syracuse and would have been able to "pull out" a win vs. GW. I wasn't a huge fan of the Ianello hire, but I tried to be optimistic about it and put a positive spin on it. However, the play calling that I have been witness to these first two games has looked so ridiculously vanilla that it's not hard to see how this guy is just plain getting out coached. Gardner Webb did a great job with the short game spreading the defense out and then tearing it to shreds up the gut or taking it deep at a whim. When the scoreboard showed the comparison of offensive stats at the half, even though the Zips were in the lead we were getting beat in virtually every category. That's when you know something is wrong. How many more damn times do I have to sit and watch the same damn bootleg play or the same moronic screen pass to a wide out with no blockers anywhere in sight? The offensive play calling has been below abhorrent. I'm sure these kids are trying hard, hell, no one wants to lose to Gardner-Webb, but come on robbie, at least try to give this team a chance to show what they can do. YOU ARE GETTING OUT COACHED. In this conference it's about out thinking and out game planning the opponent. We don't have all of the big uglies up front or the horses in the backfield for recruits that they get in the power conferences. Sure there's talent here, but it needs to be utilized properly (I think in some ways JD had a pretty good sense for this (i.e. the postion changes of D. Hixon, A. Jones, J. Arthur, etc). And if you can't come up with a workable strategy, just admit that you are not cut out for this head coaching thing and send in your resignation. I'm sure you can latch on as a recruiter with some BCS AQ conference team. - Or just destroy Kentucky next weekend...?
MDZip
To add insult to injury, anyone know how much we padi GW to come in and do that? I'm assuming this was a buy game.
you am i
To add insult to injury, anyone know how much we padi GW to come in and do that? I'm assuming this was a buy game. I don't think it works that way. This isn't comparable to Akron going to Penn State where they were going to have 100,000 in the stands, guaranteed. I doubt G-W had any kind of significant payday. ZachTheZip
Coaches and players go over the film. Some bad news is that our starting safeties, Jared Province and Josh Richmond, are both hurt and most likely out against kentucky. As if that position didn't have enough problems.
