Z.I.P.
Looks like Akron's going on a full tour of Cali next season. Aside from returning to Santa Barbara, the Zips will be playing in Cal State Northridge's tournament against both the Matadors and the Cal State Fullerton Titans. LosAngelesZipFan will have plenty of opportunities to see the Zips in 2011. When/where can I get a copy of the 2011 schedule? The "official" schedule won't be released before mid-Spring. That's why boards like this exist, to fill in the gaps. See you and the new Zips in September Biz.
Big Zip
Dartmouth is (recently) probably the strongest Ivy League school and would love to see them on the Zips schedule.
TheTank123
That tournament sounds like a way to get California exposure without playing the big boys yet. The key to this team staying successful is keeping homegrown talent, of which Ohio has plenty, and cherry picking from the other regions. Next year is OH, NJ, TX and WA...so far :-)
scottditzen
Programs that we do not have a winning record against in the all-time series that would make great match-ups: Cal State-Fullerton (0-1-0), UCSB (0-1-0), UConn (0-0-2), Duke (0-3-0), Evansville (8-9-1), Fresno State (2-2-1), Geoergetown (0-0-1), Indiana (5-23-2, ouch!), Louisville (0-2-1), Maryland (1-1-0), NC State (0-1-0), New Mexico (1-1-0), Northwestern (1-1-0), Portland (0-1-1), Rutgers (1-1-0), UCLA (0-2-0), Washington (1-1-0), Wisconsin-Milwaukee (8-9-0), and Wisconsin (1-2-0) Sparkling records against big name schools or soccer programs: Cincinnati, Dayton, Kentucky, Marquette, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oakland, OSWho, Pitt, and West Virginia I would love to see Coach Porter starting to schedule OOC games with the intention of taking the lead in some of these series. Even to the extent of labeling them on the schedule as "All-Time Matchup Game" or similar. Would be exciting for the fan base because many are name brand schools with good soccer programs. So, they would also fulfill the purpose of preparing the team for the NCAA Tournament too. Traveling into town this weekend to see us chalk up another win against Cincinnati. Great great idea!! And you know the remarkable thing is....after 3-4 years of creative scheduling, we could have winning records vs. every school in NCAA existence except for Indiana. Zach and Co., I knew the trip to UCSB was coming later in the month of September, however I had to find my earlier post (trouble linking, sorry) to find it is on Sept 30th. I guess NCAA Champions are allowed to accumulate frequent flyer miles. One trip over Labor Day weekend, another nearly a month later. Note to Caleb: Scout the Region 4 Playoffs (in Phoenix in 2011, for Bisbee's benefit) and other West Coast tournaments. The next Amobi Okugo could be OURS. As for Z.I.P., he may wait for the later visit, as he has made some friends in the SB area, referring to the Vino family.

Fortunately, CSUN finally installed lights on their soccer field prior to the 2010 season, so they now play most of their home matches at night. Before 2010, all of their home matches kicked off at 2pm or 3pm when it's ~90F in the San Fernando Valley.
