  1. Connections made with high school recruits can pay dividends 2-3 years down the road now.
  2. So with the rule change that was announced a few weeks ago that allows basketball teams to take international trips on a yearly basis, is this something we will see the Zips take advantage of?
  3. I saw a comment that said he had more games shooting 0-7 from 3 than games he had making 2 threes.
  4. Not sure if Akron being listed first is meaningful or not.

  6. Max Burton was primarily used as a play-finisher and rim-runner, while also contributing as a rebounder and interior defensive presence. Given his 20+ MPG, he projects as a high-impact role player at Akron. I'm guessing he will likely be asked to fill a similar role by setting screens, running to the rim, finishing efficiently, rebounding, and defending.
  7. Whoops, I missed the "predicting" at the top. Removed to avoid confusion.
  8. Edited to remove confusion.
  9. While the team hasn’t even been put together yet, the schedule is already coming together. Akron @ Bucknell 12/2 Tulane @ Akron 12/5
  10. The lack of commitments across college in the first two days *almost* makes you think there hasn't been tampering the last few weeks. 🤣
  11. Sorry if this has been posted already, but I hadn’t seen it.
  12. Players improve year-over-year. Players especially improve when given greater opportunity. A great example is Jimmy Conyers. After 3 years of low production, given more minutes his senior year he was a double digit scorer and was All-MAC 1st team. Good thing we didn't give up on him.
  13. In the transfer portal thread, everyone is annoyed when players do that. In this thread people are annoyed the coach didn't. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Not sure what that is, but happy to provide more ideas if they need some. I came up with those ideas as I typed. I work in marketing. Give me time to brainstorm more and I'll come up with even better ideas.
  15. Students used to have this during the KD era. It was called Roo Rewards and you could get points from all sports.
  16. I'm not sure if the women’s team still does this, but they used to schedule one or two games during the school day and fill the arena with kids. It was a great way to boost attendance. That’s exactly what the men’s team should do during the December lull, when students are off campus and we’re stuck with the inevitable Hiram/Walsh/University of Phoenix-type matchup. Most regular fans have little interest in those games, so there’s no reason to let average attendance take a hit. We also need to leverage concessions to help drive attendance. At every level, teams are creating unique food offerings that fans attend specifically to try. These items often go viral and create a sense of FOMO. We should get creative with options like ice cream bowls, loaded fries, or other items served in 3-peat crowns. We also have a great business school, so let’s tap into marketing students’ creativity to help develop and promote these ideas. Concessions should vary from game-to-game as well. For example, the MAC home opener could become an annual “MAC Night,” featuring mac and cheese flights. This could also serve as a contest for local restaurants to participate and showcase their offerings, and potentially leading to additional NIL. Whenever games are flexed to Friday night, we can brand it as “Fryday Night” and offer a fun, over-the-top fried menu with items like Oreos, Reese’s, and more. The goal is to make concessions part of the experience, not just an afterthought.
  17. At least he won't have to play his brother 1-3 times a year.
  18. CoC is aiming for $2-3m annual revenue share for basketball in addition to NIL. Does anyone know our revenue share?
