It's been awhile for me, but i have to post a rant against blatant hypocrisy that is the current Reggie Bush Heisman saga... in the form of a letter no less

Dear Mr Bush and Associated ESPN supporters,

While i respect the notion that "top players" are not reaping the benefits from ticket sales, liscensing, and tv deals. The idea promoted by yourselves (R.Bush and several ESPN commentators) that players are unduely taken advantage of floors me......

If they (and by they, i know you know who i mean) get nothing in return then why go to the likes of USC??? Why not choose a different institution instead. After all it's not like Jason Taylor or Dwight Smith ever accused Akron of taking advantage of their talents, nor do i imagine any former MAC/CUSA/MWC/WAC/SBC players have in turn.

Of course if they (and by they, i mean...) had chosen a fine institution from one of these conferences, or heck even the likes of Washington, Washington St, Vandy, Iowa St. Baylor, (you get the pic) they might not have gotten the exposure that...... wait.... wait a minute sorry, there i go again suggesting that Mr.Bush did indeed get something in return. But if that's not abuse, what does exposure, publicity, Hype and Marketing have to do with Sportswritting, ESPN ratings, and untimately the Heisman itself????

Oh that's RIGHT............ EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Of course the ensuing recognition generally comes with a better selection in the Draft... on ESPN... Who pays the likes of USC to bradcast their games and as such market their image (program and players)..... This in turn means a higher NFL salary... personal endosements...

Therefore..... Reggie Bush, you have my deepest sympathies that you were forced to play for an institutional machine that would promote and market you as a brand in the process of making you a multi-million dollar enitiy.... How dare they do that to you  . If it makes you feel any better, the only collegiate jersey i own is a replica Akron#33 for Jason Taylor. You have inspired me to ask my school to forward him $1 in said royalties he would have earned if they hadn't used him so much on his way to the NFL.... By the way, if you run into Dwight Smith. ask him what his # was so i can remember to get one of those too. Even though i lived at home for a good portion of my college experience and worked two jobs to buy a beater, pay tuition and help my family too, I know you and your god given talents were abused.... You clearly deserved better and have my deepest sympathies. ESPN, I would like to thank you for endlessly bringing this travesty and adverts for programs that will continue to do so, to my attention. I really don't like the aspect of actual "football scores" while watching football anyways.....

Ditka just summarized how important the H Trophy is by saying, "I know a guy who won the H Trophy. He's using as a doorstop at his house. It goes to show how important it is." Only Ditka......

lol... nice

I could care less about what he does with the heisman, this fake whining has to stop. If he was used it was by his choice, as i am sure a more respectable school (like Akron for instance) would have been more than happy to offer him a scholarship
