at all to Zips fans? Should it be?

OK..it is early for him and Miami, but Haywood has that team at 2-1 this year after a 1-11 season to start. He was known as a recruiter (not as well known as Ianallo in that regard), has changed Miami from some form of the spread to some form of the I-formation/pro set. He worked under many coaches and at many programs without leading a program. He is about the same age as Ianallo, and, of course, both worked together under Weiss.

Biggest differences= he was an OC at ND for a few years (though I think Weiss was REALLY the OC) and he did play Division 1 football at ND.

Question mark= not sure what he has done with the D..not sure what they played before Haywood vs. now.

Miami is now 3-2.

Buffalo was terrible before Turner Gill..and pretty damn bad in his 1st year.

Temple was terrible before Al Golden...and pretty damn bad in his 1st year.

It is hard to step back and not have the mentality of "here we go again, Akron". But there are 3 recent examples of coaches who needed at least a 2nd year for true progress to really show.
