what this is about? I don't really get it, and I'm pretty sure it makes no sense. Are they talking about the hiring process of our coach? Rob Ianello? The guy who is 0-11? Like I said I don't really get it

Well a lot of people on this board consider iCoach a black eye on the Zip's program. That may have helped us in this ranking.

It is a sorry state of affairs when political correctness dictates what coach is hired.

I don't give a damn about the color of a coach's or players skin. Crap like this turns my stomach.

Reverse discrimination has never cured anything. Rather it fosters bitterness and resentment.

Sorry, Charlie, you are the best man for the job, but, we can not hire you because you are white.

Most of us do not believe that iCoach is the right man for the job, but we can not fire him because

he is Italian?

Well it's by the Black Coaches and Administrators organization so maybe it's about Charlie Camp (linebackers coach) or Frisman Jackson (wide receivers coach)?

The University of Akron was one of 13 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools to earn an "A" on the Head Football Coaches 2009-10 Hiring Report Card (HRC),

UA was awarded an "A" because minority candidates were given a fair opportunity to compete for the position even though a white coach was ultimately selected. It's only discriminatory if legitimate candidates are deliberately excluded based on their race, ethnicity, religion, etc., and not their character and abilities. We should all be proud of UA for doing the right thing.

If that is really the case, shouldn't every school get an A? I mean does anyone really believe that in this day in age some school is going to take a chance at being perceived as racist? Everyone does their best to avoid that by interviewing an interested black coach im sure, which btw there aren't very many of. I remember an ESPN: E60 piece on that a year or two ago.

The only racist thing i see is interviewing coaches just because they are black.

Another thing, if we would have just hired Winters we could have got an "A+"! AND we might have had a better football team.
