zippyrifle32 Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I'm looking at driving out to Santa Barbara to check out the games (10 hour drive for me). Being a poor college student I'm hoping someone would like to split hotel costs (at a reasonable to cheap hotel) for friday, saturday, and sunday. Really that's the biggest cost that would prohibit me from going. Quote

We are expecting our first baby so the wife can't fly and I can't spend the extra $ when we have to get stuff for the baby. When I checked flights from Akron to SB on Thursday they had one leaving Thursday night and coming back Monday morning on Frontier for $290. Now it is $600 so that officially took me out of going. Best I can offer you is advice that there are a few motels in the area that run less than $100/night. The Sandpiper on State St. outside downtown SB is maybe the cheapest ( I recall seeing it at around 70). Also, check out UCSB's tournament site, because they have student discounts on tickets, and I believe also on hotels. Go Zips! Quote

Actually I'm in school working on my doctorate in Phoenix, so it might be about the same or cooler. I also have a final that Monday afternoon, so it would be an interesting speedy drive back to get there in time. LOL. Still trying to figure out if I can wing it, but it would be amazing to go. Quote
