RootforRoo44
Can't felon Josh Cribbs just got pro athlete of the year over Joe Thomas and Shin-Soo Choo (personal fav. Indian)
UAZipster0305
Can't felon Josh Cribbs just got pro athlete of the year over Joe Thomas and Shin-Soo Choo (personal fav. Indian) Because he was the only Cleveland pro athlete worth a crap last year. Yet another example of Cleveland screwing Akron. They can't even give the ultimate respect to true champions. The first "NE Ohio" Championship since 1964, and we don't win. Figures. Other than Case, the Cleveland Clinic, NASA, and the Metroparks/Zoo, Cleveland is a hole in the ground. Oh, and the Mongolian Barbeque is pretty stellar too. The next bad bad thing to happen to Cleveland will be Continental/United removing the hub from Hopkins. It will happen. They don't even use their waterfront well.

Zip_ME87
Nice acceptance speech by Caleb. Also cool that Kenny Lofton presented the award.
RootforRoo44
Another win for the Zippers! Is it me or does Coach Porter get cockier every time he accepts another award? I LOVE IT. Awesome little video that accompanied the award though, and awesome that Kenny Lofton was one of the presenters of the award.

jem101
Can't felon Josh Cribbs just got pro athlete of the year over Joe Thomas and Shin-Soo Choo (personal fav. Indian) What did Cribbs even do this past year? He was injured half the season. Joe Thomas made the pro-bowl and Choo is one of the top few Right Fielders in the MLB. Doesn't make any sense to me. Exactly...Cribbs came to camp overweight after "gettin' paid" and basically sucked the whole season. Don't get that one.
Zip_ME87
I am confused, what did we win? The Zips Men's Soccer Team won the College Athlete of the Year at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards. Josh Cribbs won the Professional Athlete of the Year Award. Zip_ME87
Is it me or does Coach Porter get cockier every time he accepts another award? I LOVE IT. I didn't take it as being cocky, but rather as a coach who is darn proud (rightfully so) of his players and their determination following the 2009 College Cup, and was ensuring that everyone present knew why the team won and deserved that award. That's what I took from it too. Caleb Porter is one stand-up guy.

I think his "confidence" in his team is well-deserved as well. I'm sure that talking like that after backing it up with wins makes recruiting fairly easy. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you meant any disrespect. We definitely have different connotations of "cocky" and "confidence".
