Was Zip_Me87 the only other boarder to see the Chivas game? While Zemanski did score his first MLS goal -- on a terrible attempt at an offsides trap by the KC defense that backfired -- he was also blamed in part for the first goal of the game. While I did not see it clearly, I think Ben either A) failed to clear a through ball he should have taken, or perhaps B) passed the ball back to his keeper which was intercepted by the SKC rookie who put it easily in the net. Valentin (who was repeatedly called "Valentine" by the announcer, made some good passes, and also made some errors that the announcers called out and could have cost his team. Also, while I missed a lot of this contest, Blair Gavin was subbed on in the second half, and it looked like he has not had a haircut since his injury last July. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- it was just a bit startling to see his shoulder-length locks after his always being closely shorn in the past.

Interesting contrast between the two LA teams at Home (Depot Center): Chivas played in dry conditions before under 10k, while the Galaxy last night drew about 20k in a constant downpour -- by the second half it was like being in a wading pool. The ball just would not roll, especially near the New England goal, which benefitted the road team in the 1-1 draw.

Z.I.P....I saw the first SKC goal, and I believe that Ben just didn't clear the ball properly. He kicked it too easy on the ground away from the goal, and it went right to the SKC rookie who kicked it into the goal.

As far as Blair Gavin, he seemed to adopt that unkempt hairstyle last season.

I don't know how many folks here found it, but Time Warner Cable had a free MLS Direct Kick preview on Saturday. Most of the MLS games were on digital cable channels around 760. I saw much of the Chivas game, as well as the start of the Quakes game and all of the Crew/DC United game. For some reason, the "freeview" cut off part way through some of the games. I had the DVR set for the Quakes, but only got about 10 minutes of the match...that was crap, given that Ampai was subbed into the match in the 81st minute according to the game recap.

BTW...Kitchen and Valentin are both with the US U20 team now in Dallas. We won't be seeing them with Chivas and DC United this weekend.

Kofi Sarkodie is getting his first start tonight on FoxSoccerChannel in front of a rocking large crowd in Seattle against Zakuani. Should be a good one to watch! I'll be pulling for Houston in this one tonight.

Teal Bunbury returned from his injury today and scored a goal for KC. Guess that means he'll be on the pitch in a few weeks when KC comes to Columbus. Too bad he wasn't healthy enough to train with the USMNT for their game tonight. I think Bunbury and Agudelo up top may be the future of US soccer. Agudelo has two goals in three matches and is only 18. Pretty impressive!

That was a great watch on Friday, especially Kofi (Right Back) going head-to-head with Steve Zakuani (attacking/left midfield). Zakuani scored his first goal of the season in the 1-1 tie.

It was also great to see Chris Korb get his first start for DC United on Saturday (with Perry and 2 others on "international duty").

Unfortunately, Blair Gavin re-injured his hamstring. Game notes (March 25th)

- Chivas USA suffered an early loss in the first half, when midfielder Blair Gavin suffered a recurrence of his left hamstring injury and was forced to leave the game. While the Red-and-White were down a man, Rapids midfielder Jamie Smith threaded a ball through the defense to Amarikwa, who dribbled past goalkeeper Zach Thornton and scored into the empty net.

- Midfielder Mariano Trujillo came in for Gavin, who will undergo tests in the coming days to determine the severity of his injury.

Dynamo/Sounders match up was a good one to watch, looked more like a Day-Glo Derby with the colors. Watching Kofi and Zakuani go head to head was fun to watch. It seemed Kofi was a little out of synch with his teammates. I don't have MLS Direct Kick, I watch all my matches on MLS Match Day Live. The quality is pretty good and probably better than ONN. For anyone living in the Akron area. I should have an answer before the end of the week, but we should have an official bar who will be carrying MLS Direct Kick for the rest of the season. I'll post it on here when I get the official word.

Should have another great week, I'm looking forward to possibly seeing Teal Bunbury playing Vancouver this Saturday. And we have Valentin and Kitchen playing in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship matches this week and next on ESPN3. And of course the first Spring match vs Maryland.

Nagbe got his first action for the Timbers tonight. Came in on the 66th minute in a 1-1 game against Revolution

And Bunbury scored two goals to the chants of "traitor" from the Vancouver fans. However, Sporting KC gave up 3 goals, 2 of them in the 92nd and 93rd minutes (within about 90 seconds of each other) to turn a win into a tie.

That was a heck of a comeback by Vancouver. The place went bonkers! KC Fail, but a great match to watch as a neutral though

I don't disagree that it was a great comeback by Vancouver and a great match to watch. But, I hated seeing Teal's awesome goals neutralized, especially with the Canadians chanting "traitor". Any Teal goals in KC vs the Whitecaps should be accompanied by "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

Rude Reception Doesn't Faze Bunbury

I agree, I don't like it either, but visiting Vancouver, it was to be expected. Just wait if ever the USMNT takes on Italy and New Jersey born Giuseppe Rossi. So I know how the Canadians must feel losing an outstanding player. But I do not like when I see NYRB supporters chanting "US Reject" towards Houston Dynamo/USMNT player Brian Ching last Saturday night. Uncalled for and disrespectful towards a player who has done so much for the US squad.

I wouldn't worry about Chingie, that's the same chant he heard most everywhere he went after last July. Brian's biggest regret is never getting on the field during his one World Cup in 06. Now he can go back to captaining the Hawaiian national team.

You can now watch former SoccerRoos who are in the MLS while enjoying the finest pint of Guinness at Kevin O'Bryan's Irish Pub They officially purchased MLS Direct Kick today, so you can watch any MLS match you like. They've also purchased Fox Soccer Channel and GolTV. Its also the new home for the Akron American Outlaws

We're halfway to having a neighborhood Soccer Pub in Akron, we just need the fans to show up and request it on the tube.
