zipsfan13
mommy zeke don't let some people on this board get to you.they forget it's only a game. this is not iraq where our soldiers die every day.people need to get over losing one game, and get a life.my cousin was killed last month in a car crash.she was only 22.i am not asking for people to feel sorry. i am just trying to point out that b-ball is not life, or death that american familes have to face every day.just get over it. +1. Earlier in the season I got really upset whenever they didn't play well, but I've reminded myself that it's just a game and, regardless of the outcome, life goes on. Also, I know that we all get frustrated with the outcomes of these games, but just imagine how the players feel. I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. The Hip Zip
Worst thread ever on ZN.O. Fighting like a bunch of little kids over who to pin the scapegoat label on after an embarassing Zips team loss is even more embarassing than the loss. I'll tell you what I'm losing confidence in. I'm losing confidence in Zips fans. Please pardon me while I take a little vacation from ZN.O. The atmosphere in this place just stinks. Great.... DiG is the only saving grace of this forum as of late. Everyone, don't look up. It'll be less painful when you don't see the sky before it hits you on the head. He's not the only one. .................

phil
I have enjoyed watching Zeke play basketball and find it difficult to understand why people blame him when the team is not playing well or is not winning. Zeke is an great shot blocker and has just set the Akron record for blocked shots. He wins the opening tip every game potentially giving us an added possession each game. He provides a safe pass on the inbouds play by passing him the ball where nobody can get it. Most importantly, he intimidates other players by having them change their shot in the lane or by passing the ball out or forcing a bad shot so that it will not be blocked. His rebounding has improved and he has grabbed numerous rebounds in heavy traffic. Zeke is a much more intensive player on defense than he is on offense. Currently he is better at blocking shot than at scoring. However, he is only a 2nd year player and he still has potential to be an outstanding offensive player. He has displayed a nice jump hook early in the season. But he does not have the confidence to consistantly take the ball to the basket when he is one on one. With practice and hard work he can improve his offense. I look forward to watching Zeke play in the tournament and maybe in a couple of years he will be setting some offensive records. Dave in Green
Back from my ZN.O vacation. It was both relaxing and traumatic to go from visiting these forums many times daily to going cold turkey. I missed the thoughtful posts and camaraderie here, but enjoyed missing some of the silly negativity that sometimes seems to flood out of control. I guess this thread is a microcosm of what can go wrong on a sports forum. Someone starts a not serious thread, others take it seriously, and it spirals into contentiousness. In many ways ZN.O is pretty typical of forums where people of many different personalities gather. Some people post on forums mainly to participate in thoughtful discussion, some to vent, and others for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the conversations go well and sometimes there's serious conflict. In the real world, everyone doesn't get along in social situations. People with different personalities often turn others off, and we tend to avoid those we don't get along with. Outside of ZN.O, some of us posting here might not hang with others posting here. There's nothing at all wrong with that. That's just the way people are. The positive side is that on forums like ZN.O we get a wide diversity of opinion, which can be enlightening. The negative side is that some of that opinion can be presented in a way that really grates and grinds on us. My little vacation has taught me that I need to focus more on the ZN.O conversation that mosts interests me and do a better job of tuning out the things that grate and grind on me. Others will find different things to be grating and grinding and have their own ways of dealing with it. Over the years I've had my share of people tell me that they find me really annoying at times, so it's no surprise that I sometimes find myself annoyed with others. We all go through this. It's part of life. Anyway, for better or worse, I'm back here posting. I plan on trying to be more focused on what interests me, more tolerant of viewpoints with which I disagree, and less annoyed at things I find annoying.
