akronzips71 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 "Anyone get the number of that truck that just ran us over"? This game is NOT what ND expected Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Please! We didn't run them over, we were competitive. Quote

UA Fan Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 If it wasn't said during our game, looks like it will be said this game. The #2 seed high powered offense is sputtering v. FSU. I was trying to watch but the amount of commercials is unbearable. I'll just check the score later. Quote

The Sweet 16 was possible this year. We're getting closer. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 If i'm not mistaken, FSU has the lowest opponents field goal % in the country this season. That win wasn't exactly surprising to anyone that's watched FSU at least a handful of times. Just like in most sports, good defense beats good offense...and in this case GREAT defense beats very good offense. The 'Noles will be tough to stop if they score like they did tonight, because they are long, quick, and extremely committed to team defense. Quote

Or, you run into a team that plays poorly on offense for a couple games straight. The way ND played last friday, Akron could have won if they could have scored. Akrons great defense didn't beat a poor offense. Quote

Of course, but usually shooting somewhat respectable is a given....an offensive performance like ours on Friday was definitely out of the norm, even for us. Quote
Dave in Green Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 The norm in shooting percentage is a lot like the norm in temperatures. Look at the temperature norm for the Akron area on any given day, and it's more likely to be 10 degrees lower or higher than it is to be the norm. Norm is nothing but the statistical average of all the highs and lows over time, not a number you expect to see in any given event. Quote
