zff
I was reading jjhuddle.com today and saw where somebody said Freguson was transferring in. They read it in the local Ashland newspaper today. Anybody know anything? If this is true he saw the writing on the wall with Jackson, Jacumein (sp?), and now Hakes..... Buckzip
Not a shock. he will still have 2 years left to play.We have some good young QB's coming in.
InTheZone
I can confirm that. He's gone. LO got a big pickup. Talented kid who was never really given a chance here. He should light the D2 world on fire. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ashland win a national title in the next 2 years which could land Lee Owens with another 1A job somewhere. Zips fan
I actually see this as a good thing. If Ferguson does transfer, it frees up a scholarship for the current recruiting class. He seems like a talented athlete that was not going to get the shot. This will be a plus for him, Akron, and Ashland. If it is true, I wish him well. If it is not, he is a solid backup and nice to have in case.
liljc
Wow, good luck to Ferguson. It catches me a bit off guard, but it does make perfect sense. Obviously, he isn't going to play next season if he stays in Akron. Plus, it looks like the following year would be a crap shoot for him, at best. It's a good football move. :macc:
fear the brown roo
i agree, good move for JF. no way he was going to get much time with the zips. there was never any consideration in the past year of replacing getsy with JF when luke struggled. good luck JF.
