Quickzips Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Christ, just found this thread at macbbs. http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/mac/phpbb/vi...pic.php?t=30331This Hakes kid looks like a stud. I personally like the second video more b/c the first one tends to show more of him scrambling and playing defense. Things I notice.-Dude's got some wheels on him. He looks like a RB in the open field.-There are a couple of times in there that he makes 30-50 yard throws down field look like 8 yard slant routes. Kids got a cannon.-He makes just about all of the throws from those deep balls to the out routes, to the bubble screen to the TE dumpoffs.Remember he is doin all of that against Texas High School football talent which is arguably the best in the country. Does it make me gay if I get a bit of a hardon watching that? Christ. Quote
fear the brown roo Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 on the contrary, it makes you gay if you don't :macc: Quote
liljc Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Wow, I like what I see from Hakes on the video. An honest to goodness human-highlight film. Have Jacquemain and Jackson tried to learn the wideout position, yet? Quote
Quickzips Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 Wow, I like what I see from Hakes on the video. An honest to goodness human-highlight film. Have Jacquemain and Jackson tried to learn the wideout position, yet? One of the three may very well need to. In all honesty though, I don't think I really mind having 3 QB's of their caliber on our roster. Quote
bobbyake Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 I wonder if JD recruited him to play as a quarterback or if he's thinking about using him somewhere else. Quote
TXZipFan Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 According to ESPN insider:"Their quick rise will help Akron recruit in the ever-competitive Ohio area. So far they have landed four instate commitments and have gone as far as Texas to get players. Coach Brookhart hopes he found a possible future field general in QB Sean Hakes out of Fort Worth."http://insider.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting...tory?id=2287477Guess they're thinkin he could be next in line. Quickzips Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 Like I said before, I don't really have any problem having three QB's on our roster with the talent of Hakes, Jackson and Jaquemain. Chosing the right one of those three to run the offense is a dilemna that I would love to have if I were JD. Quote
InTheZone Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Like I've said on here since August, Carlton Jackson will never see a down at QB. Brookhart knew he needed a QB, he went out and sold Hakes on the fact that he'd be the next starter here, and here he is. Quote
KentZip Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Zone,I missed your reasons for your views on Jackson. Could you go over them? All indications I had were that he is the next starter after Getsy and that Hakes would likely be his replacement. Is Jackson a wide receiver candidate? Quote
zipper Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Isn't it possible Hakes would redshirt for a year? I see Jackson as the QB, then Hakes. Quote
