Akron vs Ohio updates

I keep saying this and I will say it again. We need a dominating post player or two. We need more size. And most of all, we need athletes, guys that can fly up and down the court, guys that can jump, and guys with some meat on their bones. Ohio was bigger, faster, and stronger than we were and ultimately that was the difference in this game. When the 3's are not falling, you need to go to an inside game and we don't have one. We would be unstoppable especially with the way Dambrot has us playing as a team if we would step up our recruiting.

Recruiting is not the problem, injuries to Akron's best player and a transcript issue with the best freshman recruit have Akron at a big disadvantage in the paint. Coach D said this on the radio following the game last night and it was the gospel. Having Wood and Conyerz in the paint would have made that game a 10 point Akron win.

I thought last night's game was one of the best MAC games I've seen in person in a few years.1. The "o-Zone" is one of the best student sections I have seen in a MAC venue in a long time. They just need to stop hurting their own team by pointing out individual refs and using profanity. One day it will bite them in the ass2. OU needs to work on its FT shooting.3. The AK-Rowdies did their part last night. As to the cops showing up in the 1st half, that was complete b*llsh*t.4. Akron won't have a legit center next season since Futch and Preston graduate5. Linhart played like a freshman last night. Still, he is a good player.6. Romeo is as advertised.7. Tough to win on the road against a quality opponent, but Akron hanged tough and I expect them to see postseason play.

Jerimah Wood is sidelined as the result of a cheapshot put on him by an Ohio player last year.

I think you're making this up . . . Wood blew out his knee long before the OU game last season . . . you guys were still in OOC play if memory serves . . .

No - Wood's injury did occur in the Ohio game in early January. I'm not sure if an Ohio player had anything to do with it - It happened on a rebound. It was an unfortunate and costly bad landing.

What Pouch said.The injury occured in the first half against OU at home last season. There was no cheap shot involved on the play .. in fact there wasn't even a foul. 2 guys going hard for a board & JW came down wrong.$*IT happens.
