Z.I.P.
College Soccer News ranks Akron as the number 2 class in the country behind North Carolina. Sheesh! UCLA, #21? They bring in the best new goalkeeper in the country (Earl Edwards), the star of the U17 team (Kelyn Rowe) plus all-everything Victor Chavez and Munoz (sorry for the lack of a tilda), the Real Madrid youth, and they're #21, because they had "limited needs"?? If Jorge Salcedo can't take this team to the Final Four, he can't coach. But he can definitely recruit. Eder Arreola, pre-season Hermann favorite. Maybe they're downgraded (word of the week!) because they failed to get any Akron transfers!

Every kid you named except for the transfer was part of last year's recruiting class. They only brought in 3 kids total this year.

Credit where it's due -- apparently UCLA hasn't put up THIS year's roster yet! My bad. Still, that roster is the reason why the Bruins are the best team in America on paper. Salcedo will be tested to show his coaching ability.

A) spiked fruity drinks sun C) radiation from being in front of his computer monitor too much D) all of the above Come get a piece of reality in Ohio at the end of November as part of another NCAA Tourney run. I'd love to see us play UCLA at home then! Check last year's threads...I picked a lot of our great opponents as ideal match-ups including Louisville! TheTank123
Apparently Tony Walls has transferred back to UWGB. I have no specifics or inside info whatsoever, just rumor around the message boards. Edit: Confirmed via his Twitter feed. From what he says on there he wants to go back to "finish what he started". My guess is that PT was going to be harder to come by than expected. Refers to Akron as "pretty boys" though, which is interesting.

Do not throw my boy, Speas, in there with Walls. This looks like a totally different set of circumstances. I really hope that Walls was not the reason Speas was nudged out in the first place. The two players don't play the same position and it sounds like he's been committed to Akron for a while.
yazan07
I think Tony Walls is a CAM and with Wil Trapp coming in and playing the same positon, maybe there wasn't space for him to get good minutes. Whatever though, anyone with that attitude doesn't deserve to play for us. How can you try to transfer here, realize you're not good enough, and then try to blame it on the character of our players? LOL pretty boys? Has he been to any of those west coast schools? Oh well if our team really is "pretty boys," I'd rather be a national champion pretty boy than a bottom of the barrel not pretty boy. What a tool, go back to where you came from and good luck making it anywhere. BTW this is the same kid who tweeted at Teal about how he was excited to play for Akron. ANYWAY as far as the new kid goes, I would like to know more about him. Is he a centerback or a wingback? If he is a centerback, maybe he plays in the back with Barson and and Gallego is converted to a DMF a la Perry Kitchen. He is afterall listed as a D/M on GoZips. Porter has seen him play more than me though and I'm sure he has a game plan. So excited, only a few more weeks! Oh and as far as the recruiting classes go, I love how two of the other top five schools received tranfers from Akron to help build their recruiting class. We actually had an impact on three of the top five! haha
