bobbyake Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 both Chicago and Portland have their own version of the Tetris song, would be cool to see Akron do it as well. Chicago: Portland: Low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-loow lo-low low low low low - Hey! Low-lo-LOW lo-lo-low lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low low low low low - Hey! Port-land Tim-bers we a-dore you, Port-land Tim-bers for you weeee siiiiiing! (repeat) The Akron version??? Low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-loow lo-low low low low low - Hey! Low-lo-LOW lo-lo-low lo-low lo-lo-low lo-lo-low low low low low - Hey! Ak-ron, Zi-ps blue and gold, Ak-ron Zi-ps fight to the end! Quote
bobbyake Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 who's in charge of the Ak-Rowdies, they should really look into doing this song. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 I'll just pass these lyrics along to the Rowdies. I mean, how hard could it be to get 500 drunk college kids to sing this in unison? Quote

If a bunch of drunk people can do it in Portland, than it shouldn't be a problem. Quote
jem101 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Along the same lines as new chants/ songs for the Rowdies, I would love to see them mix up the "When the Zips go Marching In" and do it along the lines that Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League does it. The current version we do works great for the march, but this version would be sweet at times as well. Quote
w00t Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 My vote goes for... "We'll do what we want, we'll do what we want, we're Man United, we'll do what we want!" Generally employed right after a goal is scored. Quote
fknbuflobo Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 I like all of these song ideas and will participate in any you kids start. Zach, thanks for the lyrics. lol. You are killing me with that. The one thing I would change is the blaring of the canned house music. Why is that necessary? Who are the people who enjoy that? Especially after a victory, the AK Rowdies gather for the "I believe" only to be drowned out by the lousy and distorted PA system. Kind of a head scratcher for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oo2TP4i5jg...ayer_detailpage Quote

Gotta make these songs/chants last more than 25 seconds. Here is a favorite of mine - Could easily incorporate some Akron Zip words into it Quote
Crew8 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Here is another favorite of mine that could last for a few minutes. Sounders pull it off quite well http://youtu.be/MkaXGmZm_B0 Quote
Crew8 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 What time @ Manny's? I'll be there no later than 4:30, maybe 4pm. Quote

Ando Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 love how this starts off as a death march and then it goes nutshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c317n34c8gI mean lyrics would be pretty simple, just swap out "zippers" for timbers Quote
Ando Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I like 'just can't get enough,' too, celtic does that one really well.Toronto does it too but it's not as much fun Quote
SamCherry Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I am Sam Cherry and I enjoyed singing the tetris song at the Bowling Green game. I have red hair Quote

bobbyake Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 first time, something to build onSecond time: Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 It is something to build on. Next time we can try to sing along instead of stopping and staring at the trumpet player. Quote
bobbyake Posted November 2, 2011 Author Report Posted November 2, 2011 Would be nice if we could get the Tetris song added to the Ak-Rowdies chant section. Also, youtube videos of each chant would be nice. Quote
bobbyake Posted November 7, 2011 Author Report Posted November 7, 2011 another great video of how the Timbers Army do it: Quote
