Is it possible to get a home game in August?

Just thinking that with two potential thrashings at the hands of PSU and NC St, coming to a home opener at 0-2 is not going to capitalize on our success as MAC Champs at all. If we can somehow get a season opener in August at the bowl, we could probably come close to packing the house. An 0-2 start would kill a lot of bandwagon fan support and kill the momentum of this team. I hope our new AD has this in mind.

PSU is gonna be a real tough game... but I think that NC State will be a match that is possible to win, with alot of Akrons best talent being redshirted this past season look for them to suprise NC State in that game. I think Jabari Arthur in the next few years is going to become a very dominant force and with Getsy's maturity and experience they will have a great season next year. To be honest I don't see a team in the MAC other than Miami U having more talent with BG losing Omar, and Toledo losing Gradkowski. Does anyon know if NIU's back was a senior, i know they had a Freshman QB.

August 31 is the first playing date... with the PSU game on Saturday that would not work well.From what I here the first home game will be on September 16.

Garret Wolfe from NIU was a senior, thank goodness we won't have to face him again. :macc:

Wolfe was a junior, he'll be a senior this year.

Garret Wolfe was technically a senior last year, but because he was a prop he had the opportunity to earn an extra year which he did. We probably won't see him against the Zips again next year though seeing as they won't be a cross-divisional game.

Only chance to see Wolfe really next year is probably in the MACC. Looking at things very early though I wouldn't discount a rematch of this years game at all. We may just get to see him there.
