ZachTheZip Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 5,241 is the new home attendance record. And we're not even done expanding the stadium. In other college soccer, Louisville set their own home attendance record with a crowd of 7,821. Unfortunately for them, Dylan Mares is out for the season with a torn ACL. Quote
Spin Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 They also broke the record for longest home winning streak in history tonight. Not a bad start on the season... Quote
jem101 Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 They also broke the record for longest home winning streak in history tonight. Actually it's home undefeated streak. That Cal match in the quarterfinals was officially a draw and we advanced on PKs. Either way it's still an NCAA record. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Here's an amazing stat from GoZips.com, "The Zips have lost just once during the regular run of play in their last 51 matches." So that means that, besides losing to Virginia on penalty kicks during the National Championship game two years ago, the only regulation loss was to CSU over the last 51 games? Wow, that is just incredible! Linky Quote
zip37 Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Any body have a video of last nite's scoring plays? If so please post. Thank you. I was there, but in the NW [low] corner couldn't see squat. Quote

I think that Thome returning to the Tribe could have affected our attendance. I have not been to a Tribe game this season... and would still like to see them if they ever return to full-strength. "Wait until next year" suddenly has some meaning with the Tribe. I've been looking for an excuse to see a team on the slide... bit never over a Zips game. We'll probably see a few sellout crowds this year... maybe New Mexico or OSU will start it. Quote
