Zippy989 Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=333&p=8&c=1&nid=1769941Had offers from Illinois, Marshall, North Carolina and Vanderbilt Quote
zff Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 He is now looking at Cincinnati...They came in with an offer over last weekend so he going on a visit there and then will make his choice. From waht I read I believe he will sign with the Bearcats. He is not going to sign anything tomorrow. But if we get you know who them we will be saying Aaris Who?????? Quote
gozips19 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 it just adds to the good captin's theory!GO ZIPS! Quote
InTheZone Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Aaris Reed has disappeared from our Rivals list. Quote
Beanie 4 Heisman Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 yeah he did. that is crazy. so much for a solid verbal huh Quote
InTheZone Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 The ONLY positive I could see in this is that maybe JD called to let Reed know that the Zips were signing McCoy and that would change Reed's role from RB to probably DB. In that case, this would be awesome. If not, then I'm majorly pissed. Quote
zff Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 This is all Reed's doing. He got the offer from the Bearcats and wants to check it out. He ffels with the Big East he has a better shot of going to a bowl game. But what nobody told him was that the Bearcats have to be bowl eligible first.... Quote
Zipgrad01 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Very true. The Big East may give him more exposure and a BCS bowl, but Cincy doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of ever winning the conference. Hell, they will be lucky to get bowl eligible. I think he made a big mistake on this one.Oh well, maybe he will have fun watching Akron play next bowl season. Quote
UADavid Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Still can't verify Aaris Reed signing with akron. Just checked Rivals and Scouts. Quote
KentZip Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 David,The whole list will be released by the University before Scouts or Rivals are updated. Skepticism is great as far as it goes. You shouldn't be surprised that someone(s) with close ties to UA would have the information first. Quote
UADavid Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 If I don't know who your close ties are why would a person not be skeptical. Don't want to pass on bad information. Not trying to impugn anyones integrity. I hope he did sign. Quote
KentZip Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Got it. I'm referring to Mike Rasor's ties, not mine. I officially have zero insider information, you hear that NCAA!!!!! Quote
Zipgrad01 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 It's official now. Rivals is showing that Reed has signed his LOI for the Zips. Quote
Quickzips Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Zipgrad beat me too it, Reed has signed according to Rivals.http://rivals100.rivals.com/commitlist.asp...2006&School=100 Quote
UADavid Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 How did Reed lose a star? Rivals now has him as a two star. Quote
Quickzips Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Easy, he commited to a mid-major. Quote
KentZip Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Exactly. If they kept him at the same level as he was last week, Akron would probably move up in the team recruiting rankings to a point past half of the Big East and ACC. This is not permitted. On the other hand, it might allow us to sneak up on some teams on the field where it really counts. Quote
