I wonder why Cincinnati didn't take it easy on Austin Peay, beating them up by a score of 72-10, and continuing to pour it on in the 4th quarter by outscoring them 21-7 in the final 15 minutes?

Because with Austin Peay they had a normal week of rest before playing their next game at Tennessee. But they only get four days of rest after playing Akron before they face NC State on Thursday.

Thanks for straightening me out on the Austin Peay thing, Zipmeister. Because some have suggested on the forum here that the Zips won't be able to beat FCS VMI, so I thought that meant that Cincinatti may have run the score up more on FCS Austin Peay than against the Zips. But if Cincinnati tried as hard against the Zips as they did against Austin Peay, that means the Zips are probably at least a little better than Austin Peay. So there's at least one FCS team the Zips might have a chance to beat, and that gives hope for the VMI game.

I am so skeptical it isn't funny. All I can think about was last years game with GW. Everyone thought that we would win that game walking away. Let's hope for a better result on Saturday.

Ianello needs to feel the most pressure to win today since the Buffalo game last season. This is it, you can not lose to an FCS team two years in a row, start off your career 1-15 (a 0.0625 success rate), and then make a case that you should be retained.

In a real professional business environment he would have been let go already. Why isn't the football side of the athletic department treating this as a professional business environment?

I don't include the coaches that had some type of scandal or criminal issue.

I mean just over their record and quality of team.

would not look good though.he needs to start winning games now.we have vmi,and eastern.

there is no reason we can't win both of these teams.a loss to either would would put us at 1-4.

that would take a big turnaround to save his job after that.
