Cal Poly Game Thread

0-0 at half. We are very lucky Cal Poly doesn't have a goal.
Akron needs to make a change. Take out Schmidt and Portillos, and put in Zakuani and Nagbe.
Ha that's funny, me and my buddy were joking that without Darren, we don't have a big center forward and that we need to put in Teal. I said "he's a big guy, holds the ball up well, and has a handful of MLS goals this season, he's just what we need"

For seventy minutes the Zips staggered around like drunken sailors. Cal Poly beat up on uslike we were orphan rag dolls. It was not pretty. But, keep the faith. Something clicked andthe Zips took control of the game for the final twenty minutes. They looked likethe oh-nine and ten teams.Akron dominated play the final twenty minutes. They were the aggressors and were on attack. The Cal Poly player got beat in the box and fouled. I do not think it was intentional. He gota yellow card. Probably for running his mouth and not the trip.IMO the Cal Poly player simply panicked as the Zip player went past him driving the ball on goal.He was actually one of Cal Poly's cleaner players. Several of the Cal Poly players were asdirty a hack as we have seen in a number of seasons. The book on the young Zips must be to bust us hard. The Zips played through the fouls and turned the victory. A darn sweet one at that.

Meves – 6 - Why is he consistently outkicked by counterpart (punts and GKs)?Yedlin – 7 - superb except in his passing.Gallego – 5 - What is up with this young man? He has lost his way.Barson – 7 - Mr. Consistency.Mayer – 6 – erratic but talentedBrenes – 4 - tentativeTrapp – 7 - anchor in the middle of the pitchCaldwell – 7 – Scotty on the spot.Quinn - 5 - looked tiredStevenson – 7 – good and improvingBarrett – 3 - He looks only for through ball, never to post up. How many offsides?Schmidt – 7 – spark of the benchBalogun – 7 – solid - Does he start for the rest of season?Portillos – 5 – valuable off the bench but not yet at his best
