Doug Snyder Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Why is it so important for those that have given up on Ianello, to try to convince those that still have some hope, to give up? What does this solve? Do you think that if every person on this board called for Ianello's firing, it would happen? What exactly is the purpose? I understand those that have hope (or just big fans of college football) get tired of the same people posting the same negativity time after time, but don't get the other "group."See, I told you so. I was right. I knew this guy was a bad hire. Shoulda listened to Tressel. Shoulda hired Fickell. I was right. Told ya so. The Zips suck. I was right. Zips are going to go 0-12. Told you so. I was right. See, see? Listen to me. Listen to me. Give me attention. I want attention! Iiiiiiiiiiii waaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssss riiiiiiiiigggghhhhhtttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Right??? Right??? Right??? I thought politics were verbotin!!!! You are from Ashland...we know you are right Quote
Big Zip Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I'll respond right back at you. Why is it so important for passionate fans to stop calling for iCoach's head? That is what passionate fans that care about the program do. This thread started with calling out those that are upset and somehow we can't ask for a similar response in turn? Quote
ZipsAlum92 Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I find it incredibly pathetic that we find ourselves arguing about the margin of victory over VMI. Is that really all we have left to hope for this season? The Zips haven't been able to cover a points spread all season. This season the Zips are 0-3 against the spread while VMI is 2-1 against the spread. That said, I would put my money on this game being closer than several of you suggest. My guess is that Akron wins by a touchdown, but loses against the spread. Quote
GP1 Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Why is it so important for passionate fans to stop calling for iCoach's head?I would agree that I have serious problems with the coach and I don't see it getting better...ever. However, how many different ways can someone express their dislike for the coach? It's sort of run its course at this point.I find it almost impossible to believe that on some level, TW doesn't think he may have made a huge mistake. I don't think what is said on this board will change his mind so spending hours asking to fire the coach is a waste of time for many.Firing someone also means a new guy has to be hired. It takes me back to JD's last year when everyone wanted him fired. I told everyone at the time that something seemed wrong with how TW look at the world and him hiring a new coach might not work out well even though I agree it was time for a change. Let's say TW fires the coach at the end of the season...Does anyone trust him to hire another coach? Most ADs at Akron last around four years. Next year will be TW's fourth year and he will be gone one way or another. A huge part of me thinks we should wait for that process to run its course or we get another bad hire and a new AD that is saddled with TW's bad hire for a few years after he is gone. Before the coach goes, the AD has to go or we are in the same position as we are in now. Does anyone think DrP will fire TW?...I don't. Knowing that, why would anyone want TW to fire the coach? Quote
Dave in Green Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I have a suggestion for those who repeat the same thing about Ianello in almost every post:1. Go to My Controls.2. Under Menu, go to Personal Profile and select the Edit Signature option.3. In the Edit Signature box, summarize your oft-stated opinion of Ianello and select the Update my Signature button at the bottom. Now your feelings about Ianello will automatically show up at the bottom of each of your posts without you having to repetitively type it in every time you post. This will free you up to focus on composing new thoughts in your posts that others may actually find worth reading. The really cool part of this is that there's an option under Board Settings called "Do you wish to view members signatures when reading topics?" that others can use to avoid seeing your signature, which they don't need to see anyway because they already know your thoughts on this subject.Everyone wins!
