bigzipguy Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 Another big match up tomorrow night: UConn at Louisville!!! Quote
AkronZip54321 Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 Uhhh speas having an outstanding game so far, letting him go was a mistake. He played out of position last year and only played spot minutes - wasn't able to showcase his ability. 4-3-3 with him and Holmes either side of Mattocks would of been scary! Quote

Definitely could use Speas this year! Rumor is that he was not guaranteed starting spot, a necessity for those with professional aspirations. Coupled with poor showings in the Spring, Ben saw greener pastures and orchestrated the transfer himself. I do not know it for a fact, but I doubt Porter is the type to guarantee anyone a spot. Quote

I could believe that. He was never at his best during his Akron days and only showed flashes of what he was expected to do. I'm sure porter wanted him to stay so he could use him off the bench at the very least how hes going to use Schmidt the rest of the year but you have to respect that he was honest and took a minor setback for the Akron team telling Speas he might be best to leave to benefit one of his (former) players. bigzipguy Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 9 shots for the terps, none for the Blue Jays!!! Halftime Quote
Dave in Green Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 9-0 shots on goal? I really like it when teams make it easy for a newbie soccer fan to recognize domination. Quote
bigzipguy Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 They listed them as 9 shots, not 9 on goal Quote
Dave in Green Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 Live scoring on Game Tracker shows the Maryland-Creighton match over, with Maryland winning 1-0. Final stats here: http://gocreighton.cstv.com/gametracker/la...artschool=& Quote
GoZips Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 UNC 2, Duke 2. Final after two overtimes. Neither side nearly as sharp as the Zips. Speas played well. We miss him. UNC is the better side. Duke had an own goal or they win this in regulation. Quote
