Guest Guest_RLN Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Quote From the Jags Official Web Site: "Matt Cherry and David Richardson would seem to be the stars of the undrafted class. Cherry, a 6-1, 203-pound wide receiver from Akron, made several nifty catches and flushed some speed." Quote
GoZips Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 RLN, Thanks for the heads up. It sounds promising for Matt. In poking around on the Jags web site (www.jaguars.com) I found Konrad Dean's name on their roster. One message board poster has all 88 of the Jags players ranked by his vision of their talent (prior to Sunday's last practices) and has Matt at #69 and Konrad at #79. Probably not likely that Konrad Dean has much of a chance. But, you never know. Good fortune to both of them. Quote
Zips4life Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I'm sure Matt will be a nice addition to someone's practice squad this year if he doesn't make the team, whether it be in Jacksonville or elsewhere. Quote
Guest Guest Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Looks like Cherry continues to shine and impress in camp. Here's something from Head Coach Jack Del Rio on the Jags official website: Leftwich isn't the only player to have earned special notice. Del Rio also offered praise for veterans Hugh Douglas and Jimmy Smith, and for draft picks Ernest Wilford and Daryl Smith, and Del Rio referred to undrafted wide receiver Matt Cherry as this year's Cortez Hankton. Guest Guest_racer Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 looks like pro scout was right on the money.matt cherry is not fast enough to play in the nfl.sorry pro scout ,but the jags coaches dont agree with you.good thing they didnt listen to him ,or matt would be playing intermural flag football right about now. Dr Z Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Matt Cherry is #14. They have some real nice mini camp photos, but I don't see Matt. Click on "mini camp photos" in the middle to left hand side Quote
