GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 The ref is definitely "letting them play".Yeah, we could use some MAC officials. Plenty of ticky-tack to call out there tonight. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I hate to say it, but a tie against a struggling program is the equivalent of a loss. Quote
tbozeglav Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 just caught wind of a blatantly missed handball inside the box that would have given us a PK w/ 11min to go. this is just disheartening Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I hate to say it, but a tie against a struggling program is the equivalent of a loss.I think these are the kinds of games this young Akron team needs. We're on the road, playing in less-than-ideal conditions, and getting our chances. We were spoiled last year! Quote
bisbee Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Im by no means a bandwagoner, but Im beginning losing hope that this team can pull it together for a championship run. This is a very good team, yes... but the cohesion and team play just isnt there yet. 2012 should be a good year for us, but given how I've seen the team play this year, they're horribly inconsistent and I cant confidently say that we'll be good enough to beat the rest of the field come late November. I still hope we can. It'd be fantastic to see, but my expectations are lowered now for this year. I hope I am wrong...Lets just pull this one out and keep working... go zips! Same could be said for all the "top teams" this season. There is no clear cut dominant team so we are clearly as good as anyone else Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Akron header off of the post with 2:45 left. Feels like the field is tilting our way a bit. Quote
GoZipsGoZips Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Look at the bright side... we won't have 7 leaving for the Pros next year...Is this Golden Goal or PKs ? Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I swear the color commentator is Bernie Kosar! Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Wow - Michigan with a crossbar and a follow-up shot with 1:50 to go. Meves with a save on the shot that hit the crossbar. Quote

bisbee Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 MEVES Player of the Game so far for the Zips. I know that hurts GoZips. Hopefully that continues until we win in the OT when they probably give it to the guy who scores....they get all the good press Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Have to admit it is hard watching Michigan control so much of the play. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Michigan still has a lot of players from their College Cup run last season. They can still be dangerous given the right motivation. They're a look at what losing your top talent can do to a team. We could just as easily be in the same spot after losing seven starters to the MLS. However, we've held together much better than any team could be expected to given those circumstances. Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 DAMN IT! Quinn SOLID off the post! Quote

Hey man, I like your outlook and I have to agree no matter what the outcome of this game. Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Too much play in the Akron end. Nice chip-shot goal by Michigan. They earned the win just as UCSB did out there. Quote
bisbee Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Time to forget this one...maybe this was our "Cleveland State" for this season Quote
