Hello My Dear Zips Fans,

I am a new Zipfan and want to send out all my best wishes for you.

Congrats on your BB team, and their success. Though I am not a basketball fan. I like Women's V-ball, gymnastics, and Cheer.

GO LADIES!!! GO LADIES!!! GO LADIES!!!!

Now onto Football!!!

I send my condolences for the loss to "CAN'T" (being from Utah, I don't know all the local colloqialisms, BUT I found that one hilarious!)

I have been here Cheering you guys on for the past couple of season's. I'm also a BYU fan, so I sincerely know about he frustrations that come with the losses. (hello UTAH fiasco)

I have been reading the posts here on your forum, (my first time at your website.) I am so, so, sorry for all the crap you fans and your players are enduring from your Athletics Dept. and coaching are putting you through. Learning about these kinds of issues in a program makes me as angry as you. Here in my home town, the High School Football coach does absolutely nothing, players have said all he does is sit in his office, and never works with them. I hope it isn't that bad at Akron. the self important feelings of entitlement, and the buddy-buddy system corrupt any program. Performance should speak for someone's job security.

I know it can take several years to build a program up, and several tears. Personal honor should demand the best effort. And from the postings of the fans, I'm seeing a lack of those qualities in conduct from the coach and AD positions. It is definitely a slap in the face of the player and student who commits to coming to a program to find themselves in an unsupportive environment.

As a fan, and i feel bad for those who pop good money for a seat at a game, to be treated to an ego fest of who is more important -- the coaching conflagration, or the fans and athletes, i'd take my money elsewhere. If it were really all effort, and a string of defeats-- I'd be there cheering you on regardless. Planting butts in seats is the responsibility of the AD, not stroking his own ego, or feeling entitled to be there. I'm not calling for anyone to lose their job, but does it sound to me like they care about the job they are doing? One could hope so, but I'm seeing a lack of concern from the staff, and they seem to be circling their own wagons, when they need to be out extending their efforts to building the the student, and player belief in the AKRON ZIPS athletics programs. It is my personal urging for them to lead by example, because actions do speak louder than words. Ask yourselves, What is the fan seeing? I'm seeing the fan response to what they are seeing, and it breaks my wee little heart. and this is just my first time here to Zips Nation. These fans and students aren't just being whiney, They have a real frustration coming from being ignored, and from seeing lacksidaisical effort from the staff, not from their team merely losing games.

I want to Cheer you on, It is my best wishes for the players giving it their all and succeeding in effort, and I want to thank the athletes for giving us their efforts for the season. It is your effort you leave out there on the field that wins a place of honor in my heart, as a fan from so far away, and that is where you deserve a championship. Play hard!!!

I hope you finish your season with a championship effort, for your own personal honor, and the effort that really wins an earned place in the heart.

i send you my love,

And you should be happy to learn that our gymnastics team was undefeated last year. ;)
