bandzip
Drum Corps International is starting the 2012 season with Innovations in Brass at Infocision Stadium. The 2012 Drum Corps International Tour will get started on Saturday, June 16 in Akron, Ohio, featuring a lineup of East Coast and Midwestern corps including the Blue Stars, Bluecoats, Cadets, Carolina Crown, Cavaliers and Phantom Regiment. Following last year’s successful June theater broadcast which brought the kickoff event of the summer season to 436 movie theaters across the country and an audience of more than 23,000, DCI’s “2012 Tour Premiere” is currently scheduled to be recorded live in Akron and aired in theaters the following Monday. zen
For those who are unfamiliar with drumcorps, if you enjoy listening to good live marching bands, then you will probably enjoy this a lot. These drumcorps are seriously tight (though at the start of the season they might be a bit rough around the edges) and make most college halftime shows look and sound completely lame. BTW, I am not a band geek, and I'm sure some band geeks will make the point that a drumcorp is different than a marching band. That stuff is above me. UA Fan
It's great to know the Info will be used for something that's actually entertaining (in addition to the UAMB).
bandzip
BTW, I am not a band geek, and I'm sure some band geeks will make the point that a drumcorp is different than a marching band. That stuff is above me. Doesn't bother me a bit. To some of those drum corp guys it's the equivalent of "Akron U."
yazan07
Couldn't make it to Innovations in Brass the past two years, I should be able to go this year. Looking forward to this.
