ZachTheZip
From Footballscoop.com: Eastern Illinois: We have been told that Dino Babers has offered the defensive coordinator role to former Akron defensive backs coach Kim McCloud. Kansas: We hear that Ron Powlus has an offer to join Charlie Weis' staff. Powlus spent the past two seasons at Akron and was with Weis at Notre Dame prior to that. From Coachingsearch.com: Duke: Don't be surprised if Duke head coach David Cutcliffe offers the offensive line job to former Akron offensive coordinator John Latina. Latina served as Cutcliffe's offensive line coach at Ole Miss for six seasons. What we really need is for the defensive coordinator to get picked up so we don't have to pay his contract. DC/OC and all position coaches were on single year contracts. They were released and are paid through February. The only person we need to have find a job is Ianello. Big Zip
Charlier Weiss getting a job could end up being the best thing to happen to Zips football. We've all heard how Ianello was the best recruiter in the country...why wouldn't Charlier want to hire iCoach back to coordinate his recruiting efforts at Kansas? Reunite "the Irish team" in Kansas...and do it yesterday. Better snatch up your protoge` before he gets put to work in a non-recruiting role at UA's Wayne Co. branch. Those recruiting skills of his are off the charts, and he's the man you need.
Big Zip
Although I would find it highly entertaining to reassign him to the Admissions department as a recruiter. I mean this is what the guy hung his had on....we should get some benefit out of it.

That makes me wonder, who is Paul Winters likely to bring in as his OC and DC?
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
How any of these tools can find another job is beyond me, including Weis. None of Ianello's staff should be able to find jobs in football. They were just horrible in all phases. It makes you wonder how full of cronyism the football coaching community really is. ZachTheZip
It's not what you know, but who you know. Sad that that is the case.
mes102
It's not what you know, but who you know. Sad that that is the case. Exactly...and the reason for it, is because as a coach, you don't want to hire someone that you don't know and can't trust. IF you hire someone you know and can trust, then you know you won't get backstabbed in the process......
Lance1969
We will never know the talent level of the offensive assistant coaches on Coach I staff. I am basing this on my observations while attending the games in person and watching Coach I try and run the offense, he was overwhelmed in the heat of the game. The man is gone so I will refrain frm making comments about lack of clock management or rythum to the offense. I am concern that the only remaining coach was in charge of the D-line that was destroyed by opponents and the Special Teams that were not special at all. Let us hope that he did not cut a deak with the AD to hang around and be part of the new staff.

He's been the most qualified coach on the staff for the past three years, working in impossible conditions with terrible co-workers. I want him as our next DC. I'd be fine with Vince on the next staff, and I think he'd still make a pretty good DC. There were special team problems last year, no doubt. But there was also fairly steady improvement in most areas. And, of course, AJ Fox was "money" by years end. Bring back the 'Stache!
Hugo42
Bye Brian Wagner and the only coaches that the players would have like to seen stay is Charlie camp and John Latina. Latina will probaly take the head job at new castle high school.
RootforRoo44
It's too bad we couldn't get Latina on Can't's staff...it'd be nice to hold them without a touchdown for a few years.
