ImAZipFan Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Seems there is a new name being mentioned over at football scoops. one Scot Loeffler, OC at Temple, and also a Barberton native... When also could be a reason why we haven't heard an announcement yet... He and PW are both playing their bowl games today... Interesting. Quote

We should want a Head Coach, not an assistant that has to learn the ropes. Quote
Dave in Green Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 So, is there a real coaching search underway or is Winters locked in? Akron: We have learned that the administration is very impressed with Temple offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler. Loeffler grew up minutes from the stadium. FootballScoop.com Quote

FootballScoop.com He does have a decent resume, but I would be surprised if we took a MAC assistant as a coach. I think Matt Campbell was and exception to the rule. Quote
Dave in Green Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 He's not just a MAC assistant. He's a MAC OC who has experience as an assistant at Michigan when the Wolverines were a power, in the SEC coaching Tim Tebow under Urban Meyer, and a year in the NFL. He's a native of Barberton. Lots of things to like about his credentials. Scot Loeffler Quote
