FearTheRoo
OK, there has to be some art majors out there!Does anyone know what font is used on the Fear the Roo graphic as well as all the marketing materials and the jerseys? I hope it was not created special. Anyone know what it is and where I can get it so I don't have to search thousands online??
zen
Okay, I have what could be good news for you.(see attached)I made in photoshop using standard fonts on my computer. The font on the bottom below the line is what I did.FEAR and ROO were done in "impact"THE was done in "times new roman"Obviously the font sizes, letter spacing, and horizontal stretch was modified, and would need to be tweaked more exact. zipper
Why not just email UAM and see if he'll send it to you?
FearTheRoo
Not a bad idea. OK, who is UAM and how do I contact him?? (Forgive my stupidity!)
Blue & Gold
I was wondering that myself for about 2 weeks - there's a lot of presuppositional knowledge tossed around on this board. I've figured out that whenever someone refers to UAM, I believe they are referring to Associate Athletics Director Mike Waddell. If I'm wrong, please let us know - so we know what/who you guys are talking about!!!
zen
Seriously though. Impact and Times New Roman. You don't even have to download any fonts!Do you need me to do some graphics?
Balki Bartokomous
The font is a modified IMPACT style font, with extended, pointed serifs. It looks like it is a custom font. There are alot of fonts that look kinda like it. Gil Sans Bold, for example. But the serifs (the points on ends of the letters) are usualy found on fonts not so bold. FEAR, THE and ROO are all in the same font. ROO is stretched vertically and THE is condensed vertically and extended horizontally. FEAR appears to be the standard font its self. Sorry I couldn't give you a direct name. You could always use a program like "fontographer" to create your own custom ROO font. all you have to do is build the letter form in photoshop or illustrator, then import the letter into fontographer. Maybe one of these days I'll get bored enough to do an entire ROO alphabet, then distribute the true type font file to anyone who wants it. FearTheRoo
hey folks thanks for your response and offers.I did hear from UAM (whom i believe is Mike Wadell!). He pretty much stated that the font was custom made and that I shouldn't try to acquire it because the company that developed it is watching out due to the huge success of the marketing campaign. I think for what I want to use it for, the other standard fonts you recommended should due for now.
