WinZip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Keep playing smart basketball and this will be a good finish. We need a hot hand - Abreu? Quote
FearTheRoo Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I'm guessing everyone will ignore the lebron shout out. +1 Quote
MDZip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Man, Brian Walsh has really been off his game today. Wonder what the three percentage is today. Gotta be down around 20%. Quote
akronzips71 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 So close and yet so far. We just can't seem to get over the top. They are in foul trouble, and in the last two minutes we might just wear them down. Quote
acstorfer Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Akron would be dominating this game if they would just give up the freakin three shots! Quote
Derrt Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 So Chauncey is not going to dive on the floor for the ball? Really? Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 It's going to be hard to overcome that last little run of missed shots, unlucky bounces and Morrison shooting clinic. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 It's not rocket science, give the ball to the biggest dude on the floor (ZEKE). Quote
Big Zip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I don't think this team will live up to their potential. So many open shots and defensive breakdowns....then unforced errors. Quote
WinZip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Whatever happened there between Abreu and Brett didn't look pretty. Confidence is so important. We can still pull this one off if we gather up the strength for one more run. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Should have been a delay of game on ORU for not getting the ball. The ref just let it slide and yelled at Diggs for getting the ball...wow, 5-7 seconds lost for nothing. Quote
akronzips71 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 The fat lady is warming up. Quote
zipsfan13 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 This might be a different game if they would have kept trying to work the ball inside instead of relying on three pointers for the last five or so minutes. Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Zips just didn't have it today. They could have won this game if they had played anywhere near their potential. It was a bad game. We're officially back to having to win the MAC tournament. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I'm sick of losing these games because of stupid stupid play. Our coaching decisions are downright moronic at times as well. The first question in the post-game press conference should be "Coach Dambrot, why the hell do you not tell your team to pass to the 7 foot guy who has a mismatch with everyone on the floor?" Quote

Big Zip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Brian Walsh injury is impacting his shot...I actually think Akron is a better team and playing like shit. How do you miss so many open shots. Quote
acstorfer Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 How many missed threes today? If they would have taken it to the paint and even scored on half those opportunities... Quote
MDZip Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Too bad we didn't have a home game in an important year. Well we'll have one next year in what might be an equally important one. Finish the MAC schedule strong! Quote
Quickzips Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 This game affirms what a lot of us have already known. The Zips are a good team, but they aren't good enough to continue skating for long portions of the game and then trying to turn it on in short spurts and win. Hopefully this serves as a wake up call for this group. We aren't THAT good that we can continue to play hard for only 60% of the game and expect to win against a decent opponent. Quote
akronzips71 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 We did not actually play horrible, we just missed too many shots, including a few bunnies. We had a bunch of wide open threes, and just were not even close. Quote
zipdiehard Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Horrible game against a good team at their place. All those stupid shots, yet were in it at the end. Forget about it, move onto winning the MAC. Quote
