what class are they, i've seen junior, soph, freshmen...bascially, how many yrs eligibilty do each have?

also, is akron the only MAC team to NOT win an a NCAA tourney game?

They came in as partial qualifiers so they had to sit out games and practice last year, as well as pay their own way for school. They are technically sophomores but like Jimmy Conyers, they can gain an extra year of eligibility back if they have progressed 80% towards their degree. If they keep their noses clean and in the books, we should have them for 3 more years

That was a good question, so I looked it up. ESPN has the records of each team in the NCAA tournament. Every MAC team has won at least one NCAA tournament game at some point in their history, save Akron, NIU (0-3) and Buffalo (never made the tournament).

Akron and Buffalo also happen to be the last two teams in the MAC to move up from a lower division. If we were in D-I for 50+ years, we probably would have picked up a tourney win at some point.

Not saying we shouldn't have one by now, just pointing out that the other MAC schools have had more opportunities and also picked up some of those wins during a very different era.
