danalleman Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 It's been a while since my last post, but I've been following the Zips in the offseason (usually watching the final 17 seconds of the MAC Championship over and over again). I found out about this interview a few days ago and it was posted on ESPN.com today regarding one of our own. Check out #10. Enjoy. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index...3dfeldman_bruce :macc: Quote
bobbyake Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I always thought we had a great O-Line, Getsy had a lot of time to make throws this season and hopefully he'll have longer next year. Quote
ziplock Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Good for Andy. I am sure his work ethic is contagious among the rest of the 0-line and the team as a whole. We all want him (and all the men) to have huge years!!Go Zips!! Quote
ZipDad57 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Hi to everyone, hope you and your families are all well, we look forward to seeing all of you again at the games, tailgates, and bus trips. One thing I wanted to mention, Andy is now 300 lbs. Any help with cooking and groceries would be appreciated, LOL! :macc: Quote
zen Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 The 6-4, 285-pounder benches 430, squats 570 and power cleans 370. He has blossomed into a legit NFL prospect. Those are some weet weightroom stats for a lineman. That benchpress is hella impressive, but the squat makes me wonder if he could even go higher, especially, as I said, when you consider his bench and the fact that he's on the line.At my peak, I could only bench 280 (for reps) but I could squat nearly 400 for reps. I'm not even trying to say that I'm close to the man he is in the weight room, but that is the type of difference between upper/lower body strength you normally see, even for top atheletes. But I have a question, because I never played ball in college. Does heavy squatting hurt your speed? Quote
GP1 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 In recent years, our o-line has had poor games, but never as many as quite a few said. The o-line just became the excuse for lack of performance in other positions.I look for a solid season from the front five next year. With a little more depth as predicted, they will be more competitive in practice and that will carry over to the games. If we can have at least seven players capable of playing o-line, running the ball in the fourth quarter will be more easy because the starting five can get some rest early in the games.I hate to get in front of the basketball cart because they are doing such a good job this year, but I'm excited about next football season. I think we will see a better team and more wins than last season. Quote
