bobbyake Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Note to Akron: don't use songs from Sony because they limit the playability on certain devices like the iPad? Another reason to short SNE Quote
zipdiehard Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 What's up with Marla Ridenour's comment toward the bottom of this article about "not as arrogant as it seems"? I think both schools showed how much they respect they have for each other by not rubbing it in at the opponents home. She is way off base with this comment. beacon Quote
Dave in Green Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 I think the arrogant comment was more about the concept of going back to your own homecourt to cut down the nets after clinching a conference championship on your rival's court. Honestly, I've been following basketball for six decades, and I don't recall ever seeing a reference to something like this before. I guess it's not uncommon for a college team to go cut down the nets at home after winning on the road, as Can't did the same last season. I may have read a reference to something like this in the past, but it sure didn't register. In any case, I could see where a few people might consider this to border on arrogance, though I don't see it that way at all. Quote
Dave in Green Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Upon further consideration, there's a little problem with Marla's story: The Zips headed back to Rhodes Arena to cut down the nets, which might not be as arrogant as it sounds. K S U did the same when it beat UA on the road a year ago. Can't did not beat UA on the road a year ago. Can't clinched last season's MAC championship when they beat WMU on the road before closing out the season with a home win against UA. Quote

Dave in Green Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Correction: It was not the WMU win on the road that clinched it for Can't last season, but the win at Bowling Green. Quote

I have no idea what she is talking about there. Quote
mes102 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 I think she might of meant two years ago. When the last game of season was at Akron, and it was a white out, on ESPN2, and we got embarrassed on our home floor in the 2nd half... Quote
