UADavid
Get used to it zip fans. Whenever we get someone good, they will eventually leave for a better school, money, prestige, conference...... If true, UAM will be missed.
zff
I can confirm this. It is true.
zip37
LOVE THE GUY, REALLY WANTED HIM TO STAY BUT HE WAS DENIED THE AD JOB HERE AND DON'T BLAME HIM, BUT I AM UPSET-- HOPE MACK RHOADES CAN REPLACE ONE QUALITY GUY W/ANOTHER-- TIME WILL TELL. AS OF NOW I'LL BACK UAM IN HIS MOVE AND HOPE MACK CAN GET IT DONE. WITH BALL AMMUNITION LOCK AND LOAD .
the BIG POPS
While we'll certainly miss having him around, I'm happy for The Wad and his new opportunity to the southwest. Cincinnati is gaining a remarkably valuable asset. Mike is leaving some enormous shoes to fill (25% of which is BS), but I would gladly entrust Mack Rhoades to find that replacement. Congrats Mike, and Best of Luck to you and your family.
fear the brown roo
you can replace the position but you can never replace "the wad". onward and upward mike.
MRasor0200
I can confirm this as well.I just spoke with him on the phone.I wish him luck. liljc
I gotta admit, this is not a surprise, but it is a little bit earlier than I thought it would happen. Obviously, the man wants to be an AD. It woulda been nice if it could have been here. I don't know Rhoades from Adam, but I do know the Wad, and if you made me chose, I'd take the Wad EVERY TIME. (just my opinion) Congrats to UC, you just got the very best that we had to offer. Congrats and good luck to you , too, Wad.Thanks for absolutely everything! See you in October! Always Onward and Upward-Go Zips!
Valpo Zip
the man wants to be an AD. He's not becoming an AD at Cincy ! I am so not into management and i have no idea what did Wodall do or what his position was etc... I just hate the fact that we are always used as a stepping stone ! Even our own people do not believe that we are becoming a good athletic program and they are always looking for another chance somewhere else. KeeprOFtheHous
Akron is a stepping stone, that is not a knock on Akron at all. If you worked at a small law firm and a bigger one offered you more money and prestigue would you make the moveof course you would. The fact that Akron is such a good stepping stone is a good thing. it means we can demand more from those top end positions. plus iam sure the "wad" is gonna take a pay jump of at least 50K

I am just worried about our situation... I am not sure i understand how is it a good thing being a stepping stone ?Was it a good thing when Huggins moved to cincy and we had to go through a decade of basketball mediocrity ? Is it a good thing that Lolla left and now Louisville is challenging us in recruiting our very local kids ? fortunately it didn't work out for them this time, but you know what i mean. I am just too worried because great people come to mid-major programs every once in a while so when you find one of them, you should really hold tight on him/her.I am so anxious to see how would the soccer team perform under coach porter and i am too scared of the thought of JD and/or KD leaving any time soon and i would be so broken-hearted to see the likes of Hipsher and owens coaching our teams again ! zipper
I am not scared about JD or Keith leaving if the right AD is in place. I think it's a top down thing, and when you have the right leadership, Proenza and now Rhodes, in place, they just do things the right way. fear the brown roo
i just hate to see him go to such a piece of garbage like cincy. i've never seen such whiners and moaners as those idiots in the queen city. queen city is right, they all bitch like a bunch of drag queens fighting over eye-liner. i look forward to the mike's getting experience and getting the hell out of that dump. they are truly the least in the big east
liljc
It's goes without saying that we have to have a huge turnout for the roadie to Cincinnati on Oct. 7. Those queens took both Thomas and The Wad out of here in the same year. I wouldn't miss it for anything. We owe them one major ass kickin'. fear the brown roo
those idiots actually think they are a major school. agreed, they are in b-ball. the big east is a great basketball conference and cincy holds their own in it. but in football? come on, they suck and i'll take great pleasure in the zips kicking the hell out of a big east school in their own dump, especially one that took thomas and wad from us. to top it off, those bastards down there are bitching and whining about not getting a "big time" AD. they think our guys are mid major and MAC rejects. i can hardly wait for 5 years to go by, or less, and both our guys leave them for better opportunities. cincy can kiss my blue and gold ass. here's to kicking their ass in the only stadium in ohio as bad as the rubber bowl!
