TheTank123
Me thinks we may hear this call again in 2012! I haven't been able to catch any games since I'm in Boston and none of them are streaming, but it sounds like Aodhan and DeAndre are the two best players on the team. No surprise... Zip_ME87
U-18s win Academy Playoff group to advance to Finals Serna's dramatic stoppage time goal lifts Rapids to win group as only undefeated team It was a story book ending, requiring perseverance and a dramatic finish. The Colorado Rapids U-18 Development Academy team defeated the Dallas Texans on a stoppage time goal from Dillon Serna in the third and final match of group play of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs on Thursday morning in Frisco, Texas. With the win, the Rapids remained undefeated in the group and claimed one of the eight coveted berths in the Academy Finals, which will be played in Houston from July 16-23.... Crew8
Bucks Extinguish Fire 2-0, Dampen Chicago Playoff HopeUnbeaten streak goes to twelve for division leaders ...In a game delayed sixty minutes due to weather, both teams came out ready to play and moved the ball up and down the field at will. Chicago had the better of the first half chances out shooting the visitors 7-4 in the first half and had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. The Bucks defense was solid on Sunday as it has been all season long led by center backs Kevin Cope and Seb Harris, who dominated the game in the air. The Bucks did have several first half chances that were all created on counter attacking through the midfield between Scott Caldwell, Nermin Crnkic and Tom Catalano. The three worked well together and played several balls into the area for forward Anthony Grant, who would have two great first half opportunities saved by Fire keeper David Meves and another sure goal rejected by the near goal post. The Bucks were content to go to the half scoreless, where head coach Gary Parsons made the necessary adjustments to the offensive plan.... Thanks for posting that! I recognized another name in the article that I haven't seen in two years. I needed to look it up to see if it was really Sebastian. I follow Northampton Town in League 2 and Seb was once in the system after earning a spot for two years. Although he only cracked the roster a few times in his first season. He spent the rest on loan to smaller clubs in Conference or below in England before being let go by Northampton Town.
Zip_ME87
I missed this article on TopDrawerSoccer a few weeks ago (June 19, 2012)... Sounders U23 navigating through first season Sounders U23 Players to Watch D DeAndre Yedlin, Akron: The pacey right back was a picture of consistency for the Zips last season and has enjoyed the same kind of summer so far for the Sounders, playing every minute of every match. Zip_ME87
AFC Cleveland defeated FC Buffalo 3-0. Thomas Schmitt scored the 3rd goal. Andrian McAdams looked very solid in goal, including an outstanding save just before half time. University of Akron striker Tommy Schmitt had the goal of the night just three minutes later. Schmitt found himself smothered by a defender and the onrushing Buffalo keeper, but calmly slotted a shot between the two at a very title angle. This gave Cleveland the 3-0 lead. Zip_ME87
Nice whooping the Sounders U23s put on the North Sound Sea Wolves in a meaningless regular season final match, 5-1. In the 82nd minute the Sounders U-23 put another one on the board with a goal from Zack Foxhoven. DeAndre Yedlin hit a bending through ball behind the SeaWolves defense. Foxhoven brought it down perfectly with his first touch in stride and then struck in past a relatively helpless Claudio Lazar for the 4-1 lead. AFC Cleveland won 2-1. Free kick from outside the box is what I read on Twitter in the 91st minute. Low outside shot. I can't locate the tweet. Detroit countered with a goal a minute later, but were called offisides. Congrats! Hope they beat that Erie squad. Schmitt started on the bench and so was McAdams. I didn't see Gallego on the lineup sheet. 5v5: Debating the top GKs in Men's Soccer. Meves gets a few mentions among his peers.

I love seeing our guys doing well. By the way, Andrian is headed to Bradenton, FL with the U20 Crew Juniors for the Super-20 playoffs. (The Crew Juniors with Chad Barson and Ben Speas won last year.) I wish they posted better information on the Crew Juniors U20's. I know that Andrian has played numerous matches for them, specifically the 6-1 win and the 2-0 win on July 5th and 7th as well as others. It's nice to see Meves recognized by some of his peers. Hey guys, I am anew season ticket holder for the Zips. I was at both games in Erie. Schmitty goal on Saturday was a thing of beauty. It was just outside the boy on the right side of the goal near the side edge of the box. He bent it in, it hit the post and went in. Then Detroits goal was called offsides ( a very gutsy call by the side judge if you ask me). On Sunday, Schmitty started, but was subbed in at the 105 minute mark, so he couldn't take PK's. he was easily the most skilled player out there. I told him after the game yesterday that I felt he had about 20-25 goals in him this season. He was excited to hear that. .. It's a shamed that David Murrow transferred out. He looked great all weekend. Very fast also. Mc Adams didn't start because Ben Yabrow from Notre Dame College has been with the team from the start. Ben Yabrow would prolly be a Zip if he was 4 inches taller. His height sent him to D2, but he is still a top notch goal tender. The championship game vs Madison 56ers will be on Sunday July 22nd. Either 2 or 3 pm at Brecksville. I invite all of zip nation to come up to support the zips and watch this game. The winner gets into the US Open Cup next season and a trip to to Sandiego the weekend after for the NPSL National championships. My season tix for the zips are in 204. Zip_ME87
Sounders U23 2 - 1 FC Tucson In the 47th minute, FC Tucson’s star forward, a former MLS talent, Donny Toia shot from left to right to find the bottom corner of the net. The former Real Salt Lake product beat Doug Herrick to give Tucson a 1-0 lead. The Sounders didn’t take long to bounce back. Less than 10 minutes later, Darwin Jones scored to equalize the score at 1-1. The Sounders’ right back, DeAndre Yedlin, threw a long throw-in towards the front of the goal mouth and it was flicked on to the back post. Jones was there to jump and side-volley the ball into the net. With momentum firmly in hand, the Sounders completed the comeback in the 64th minute. After a defensive mix up by Tucson, Aodhan Quinn found Sean Morris for the go-ahead goal.
