Dr Z Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 Full Article Here By George Thomas University of Akron freshman Imani Davis has an attitude. That’s a good thing. Davis, a 5-foot-9 recruit from Belen Jesuit Prep in Miami, Fla., walked onto the UA campus as a cornerback, but now is a wide receiver with something to prove. “I came in with a chip on my shoulder. I have family back home that I want to make proud. The whole offseason I’ve been working my tail off,” he said after Wednesday afternoon’s practice. “The entire summer my trainer just preached and preached to me: ‘Go to college and make an immediate impact as a freshman.’ From that day on I’ve been working out, trying hard and doing what I could.” A two-way player at Belen, he made all-county as a senior. But when it came time for the college offers to come, he started with four and that eventually dwindled to two before the Zips swooped in with a late offer. GoZips Bio Quote

Zipgrad01 Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 He is one of a number of playmakers that seems to have appeared since last year. I am quietly optimistic that we are overall much more talented than everyone expects. Quote
