• SIUE was 8-8-4 overall in 2011, including a 1-4-1 mark in conference play.

SIU Edwardsville Series Notes

• The Zips and Cougars will be facing each other for the 14th time overall and the first time since the 1969 season.

I absolutely love this analysis, Andy. As far as I am concerned, you can discuss formation, tactics, and strategy every match.

I also agree with your comparison of Koroma to Mattocks. Darren is a truly rare commodity; a pure finisher, and not much else. Alfred Koroma is closer to Teal Bunbury, playing the complete game.

I must say, Koroma's goal vs. Creighton was a beauty.

yeah, definitely different types of forwards

and by "more complete," I want to stress, I don't necessarily mean "better." There's definitely more to Darren's game than often met the eye - He was fast, but so are a lot of other guys. I feel his movement, on top of being quick, was always pretty intelligent as well. He stretched a lot of defenders in his time here by moving around, checking back occasionally, etc.

But I think, in terms of on-ball ability, Koroma has the potential to do things Darren probably wasn't technically proficient enough to pull off

I agree with everything above.
