ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
Watching the game on ESPN3. Box score shows 753 yards gained by the Zips today with a couple of minutes left to play. Spectacular. It's amazing to be entertained by a Zips football team. I can't wait to see how they look against other MAC squads, assuming they don't suffer major injuries against Tennessee next week. Go Zips! Zips fan
The Zips have scored 118 points through three games compared to 170 for last season. It is great to be excited about football again! Can't wait to see how we compete against the MAC!

Go Zips! Be careful. That was Morgan State. I am happy that they proved that they can score, but look who they played. I just want them to stop somebody on a consistent basis. Also keeping their running back under control was huge not to mention the confidence that was gained frim this performance

ZachTheZip
Morgan State lost to Buffalo 56-34 last week. An FCS team that can score 34 points on a fellow MAC team, and we held them to two FGs. That's a pretty good sign, as is putting up more points. Coach has now won half as many games a iCoach, with 8 to go. We are talking iCoach career After the first game i said this team can compete in the MAC Last week some guys were really negative because we lost. I was very positive because we played well with a ton of offense and really could have won. We were in the game all the way. This team can compete in the MAC and in a year or two could be seeking a championship. Anyone know had bad Williams was hurt?

Coach Bowden said in the post game that it appears that it was not his ribs that were bruised but lower (his stomach?)...but I haven't heard anything else since. Fun game to watch, like a posted said above, hopefully this translates to MAC play. I dont think there is any doubt we will be able to move the ball all year. Question is whether this defense will be able to hold up and keep us in games. Feels good to be excited about the Zips!
Dr Z
What offensive recruit would not want to play on this offense? Burn the phones up this week. Coach: "Hello, [recruit name here] take a look at our box score this week, call me back after you do"
Dave in Green
Coach Bowden said in the post game that it appears that it was not his ribs that were bruised but lower (his stomach?)...but I haven't heard anything else since. If it was not his ribs that were hurt, it was something close to the bottom of his ribcage. I was watching through binoculars when DW winced in pain as a trainer pushed at a point that appeared to be near the bottom of his ribcage on his right side, and also later when DW pushed on a point near the bottom of a teammate's ribcage to show where he had been hurt. He was really crushed between two defenders, and might have taken a hit to the area of the right kidney.

skip-zip
Yes, nobody anywhere is going to take this win very seriously. But, the players on this team certainly love it. And so do the win-starved fans. I'll repeat again that the Miami/BG/NIU stretch will tell us if we are getting anywhere. Not a game like this, against a team that gave up 50-some points to Buffalo last week too. But, I did say that I was specifically looking at one thing this week. How well did we handle the running game compared to how Buffalo handled it last week? We gave up 2.9 yards per rush compared to Buffalo's 3.4 yards per rush. I don't know if that is significant or not, but I'd say it's at least some progress considering that we had to be the worst team in the league against the run last year.
