johnnyzip84 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 ESPN Link SportsTime Ohio also has carried Mid-American Conference football and basketball and high school sports. Whether the two networks will be combined into one isn't clear. Quote
Spin Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Originally Tony Rizzo (a Fox employee and friends with a lot of STO people) said Fox was going to try to move the Indians to FSO and shut down the station. Yesterday he said everyone at STO is looking for jobs, but he's not sure FSO can fit the Reds and Indians on the same network. If that's true, they might continue MAC coverage and TV shows. Quote
Kangaroo Craig Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Hopefully this will allow the Tribe to become competitive again. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 Does that mean that we have to kiss the coaches shows and the MAC coverage good bye? Thanks FSOH! Quote
akzipper Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 I fully believe Northeast Ohio has enough sports to have it's own channel. But I expect Fox Sports to move all Indians games to FSO and be done with it. STO was really just a channel made for the Indians and functioned out of the WKYC studios. From what I understand most of the employees have other jobs outside of STO, and just work there part-time. During most of the Indians offseason I don't think I ever watch the channel unless the Zips are on. But if I had my choice I would love a channel that focused on Indians, Cavs, Browns, Gladiators, Monsters, Vikings, Zips, and MAC tournament. Leaving FSO the Reds, Crew, Bluejackets, Xavier, Bearcats, etc. Not many people in NE Ohio care about the teams down south (except Buckeyes) and the south doesn't care about the teams up north. Combining the channels will just cause too many programming conflicts and I doubt we such much of the Zips anymore. Before STO I don't think I ever saw Akron play unless it was the Can't game. Maybe UA can strike a deal with FSO, but I doubt it. Quote
