Following the Hoosiers in the coaches preseason poll were 2012 Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan State, 2012 co-regular season champion Northwestern, Michigan, 2012 co-regular season champion Penn State, Wisconsin and Ohio State. The Hoosiers are loaded in midfield with the return of seniors A.J. Corrado and Nikita Kotlov and addition of junior transfer Dylan Mares from Louisville.
