InTheZone Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 The teams that have shown the most interest in him seem to be the Steelers and Browns. I'm sure he'd love to reunite with Charlie, but the best situation for him would probably be in the Pittsburgh. Quote
MRasor0200 Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 The Browns just traded for another sixth rounder. That seems like Hixon territory to me.blogs.ohio.com/rasor Quote
Valpo Zip Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 Hixon for browns at 182... Absolutely genius move by savage. who cares whether we get Ngata or Wimbley, i mean no one has any edge above the other. He got the 182nd pick (at virtually no cost) to make room for Domenik... great job lobbying Charlie. Can't wait till tomorrow to see it happen. Quote
msopher Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 Sorry to break this news, but the Browns have better needs than a WR. Quote
zipseuph Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 The Browns took a WR in the 3rd round so I doubt Hixon will be joining Frye Quote
InTheZone Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Another would've been good option for him was Pittsburgh, but they've already drafted two WR in the first 3 rounds. Cleveland and Pittsburgh seemed to be the teams with the most interest, so now I'm thinking Hixon may not get drafted at all which would be a huge mistake for all 32 NFL teams in my opinion. Whoever picks him up as a FA will be getting one heckuva deal. Quote
InTheZone Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Well NEVERMIND!!! I guess the Brookhart/Shanahan connection was at work here, because Hixon just went in the 4th to Denver, higher than I think any of us expected him to go. Congrats to Domenik!!! I know he'll do the Zipsnation proud. Quote
msopher Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I am very surprised by this, but I hope things work out for him. It's good to see MAC guys get drafted. Quote
UA Fan Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 DH was the 17th WR picked. Not bad considering most all of the 115+ 1A teams have at least one graduating WR. He will prove himself worthy of the 4th round pick. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Even Hixon's biggest fan (which is myself) wasn't that optimistic, seeing how he wasn't invited to the combine... but once again, Domenik is making us proud.Way to go champion ! Quote
InTheZone Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 If anyone saw after the pick Mel Kiper had a lot of great things to say about Hixon and commented that the Denver WR core just got a lot better with that selection. Not bad for a guy who wasn't even invited to the combine! Quote
