Ryno aka Menace Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2438046and1. Which MAC team pulls the annual upset of a BCS conference school? It happens every season -- last year it was Ohio shocking Pittsburgh. This year, with more home games against I-A opponents and more BCS-level teams on the schedule than ever, there are a number of possibilities. Two jump to mind: Iowa had better be ready when Northern Illinois interrupts the Hawkeyes' Big Ten focus with an Oct. 28 visit, and NC State is forewarned for its Sept. 9 home game against Akron.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2438487 Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 "Miami of Ohio may be the cradle of coaches, but the entire MAC is billing itself as the Conference of Quarterbacks. The heir apparent to the legacy of Ben Roethlisberger, Byron Leftwich, Charlie Frye, et al, is Luke Getsy of Akron, who threw for 3,455 yards but had an efficiency rating of only 118.1 last fall. With 18 returning starters, the Zips should be better than last season's 7-6 team but may not have a much better record. Opening on the road against Penn State and NC State will test any quarterback." Quote
Johnny Utah Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 My favorite reading of the article was this...It's hard to describe just how bad the Can't State running game was last year, but we'll give it a shot. For the entire season, the Golden flushes totaled a whopping 505 yards on the ground. To put that in perspective, Can't State could've increased its total by 60 percent (300 yards) and still been the worst rushing team in the country. So yes, when you average 45.9 yards per game and 1.8 yards per carry, just about anything that walks in a forward motion is considered a spring answer. Quote

So basically what they are saying then is that Can't doesn't have any answers this spring??? Quote
