Hartwick was recently informed by the MAC that the College's contract would not be renewed due to the Conference's desire to move forward without multi-divisional institutions. Looking forward, the Sun Belt will be the third conference of which the Hartwick men's soccer program has been associated. The Hawks have previously competed in the Atlantic Soccer Conference and the Mid-American Conference with a combined record of 44-34-15 in 14 seasons.

The MAC is down to 6 teams.

I believe 6 conference members is the minimum for NCAA automatic tournament bid.

This is a bit silly. The MAC does not want multi-divisional members? Really? Why not? Who are the MAC to look down their noses at anyone? :moon:

Is there some economic reason/justification I am not seeing?

Now the Zips will likely never get the chance to avenge last year's home loss to Hawks.

It's a pretty dumb excuse for kicking a team to the curb like that.

I think there's something else going on here. I believe that by the summer we'll see a new team in the MAC.
