Zipsrifle
As I sat down to watch the Hall of Fame game last night, I let out a sigh of relief....football has arrived. Sure, summer is on it's way out, but my favorite time of year is here.I can't wait for:1) PSU vs. Akron. Every season starts with such high hopes. Again, I'm really, really pumped and look for us to give PSU a handful!2) Tailgating at the RB!3) Kicking the crap out of NC State, Can't, Miami!4) Turkey Day #2! ( I hope is snows again!)5) Another "Home" game for me in Detroit!I hope that OSU implodes. I am sick and tired of everyone here (In MICHIGAN) telling me that they are #1 Go Zips! bobbyake
i hear ya. I hope Texas gives OSU a beating. Don't know if that will happen or not. Texas has a freshman quarterback. But OSU has a whole new defense so you never know. We can only hope OSU loses every game and all the OSU fans turn to Akron for a team to root for. That's the dream. Maybe someday Akron will be in Ohio what Pitt is in PA. Not everyone in PA roots for Penn State, so maybe there's hope for Akron.

zen
zOMG, I was thinking that this last weekend. Things will start to cool off and along with the sounds of a breeze rustling amist the ever drying leaves on the trees, I can already hear the sound of announcers on television enveloped in a wash of crowd noise in the background. I can already imagine the sound of beer commercials creeping around corners as I am already in the kitchen grabbing another brew, way ahead of madison avenue's cue.The sounds of Crashing pads and blowing whistles.Going to an occasional game and having my nose flooded with drifting scent of stadium mustard on a dog two seats down, and the beer spilt on the ground right behind me.Seeing the ball kicked off and standing up ready to throw a block myself for the returner, knowing that I can't do anything more than put faith in how the coach trained our warrior's blocking patterns. Squinting as that ball crests to the height of the lamps which gleem afront of the dusky afternoon sky.I don't care how many baseball games I go to, in the summer heat cracking peanuts to kill the time between pitches, and worse, innings. I'll never feel about any game like I do when the autumn air is split into a wake by a tightly spiraled, majestically arching, downfield pass.
