Staton14
Zips are now 5-4 but interestingly each and every one of the four losses is by a single run. Does this translate to the team just being more competitive this year? Does it mean there is a problem at the back end of the bullpen?I think its more of them competing in games that they wouldn't have in the past, but just not quite being able to pull them out. I think the bullpen is solid, at least the few main guys.
GJGood
That was my inclination as well. Its just odd to see every loss be by one run.
Staton14
They'll have an extremely tough challenge this weekend against Coastal Carolina, Michigan St, and Michigan. Three very good teams.
Spin
I don't think the attendance at softball games are a whole lot better than baseball, yet compare the ballparks. I wonder if softball moms are on a whole different level of "whining" than baseball moms. It's gotta be tough to recruit ball players to that hole. Makes me sick to my stomach. Honestly, and this is truly embarrassing, but both Walsh University and Malone have nicer baseball facilities than we do. Simply unacceptable. Spin
I don't know how many are keeping up with the Zips this season but we're currently tied for the East Division lead with Portage County at 9-6. They're 21-16 overall and we're 18-19. We have a busy week this week, travelling to Ohio this weekend for a 3 game series then host Malone on Tuesday night, before travelling to YSU Thursday night,. There's still about a month to go in the season, ending up with three "home" games against Can't. BTW CMU has a 3 game lead in the West at 12-3. We're actually 19-19 after Tuesday's non-conference win over WMU. But yes, very good season, especially in the MAC, so far.
ZachTheZip
This weekend, Akron faces one of it's two toughest tests with a series on the road at Ohio, who is one game back in the MAC and has a much better overall record. If the Zips can take two of three there, then they're legit contenders for the MAC championship.
GJGood
Big series. Go out and get some wins! I think they are legitimate contenders in Avon if they get there either way. I think this year's team is better than last year's and they were a win away from the title in 2014.

Spin
Man, streaming (or attempting to) is just a huge waste of money. I don't think I have ever gone 20 minutes without it dropping out, and tonight it's completely worthless.
