Something to think about

Last year, i attended every single men's basketball home game and i travelled to 5 away ones beside the MAC tournament at the Q. In most of the home games, i sat with the Ak-rowdies and cheered and screamed my lungs out while a significant number of Rowdies seats were empty and so was a good part of the regular seats. The only sellout home games we had were Ohio and Can't State. What is bothering me the most is that in the last home game, (Can't State @ Akron), i went to the JAR 3 hours before the game and i had to stand in a huge line in a freezing temperature for like 40 minutes and was then told that the rowdies seats were full and that there is no seat for me :nono: I sat in the general admission area and i was looking at the people in the rowdies seats and i swear that half of them were there for the first time in the whole season (attending their first game in the season's last home game). As much as i would love our team this year to do great and as mush as i would love to see a sellout in each home game, it scares me to think that if the team does good, so many people would jump in the bandwagon and there won't be a place for loyal people anymore. I know that Matt (the rowdies' godfather) is now gone. I hope that whoever is now in charge would find a way to keep a record of the loyal rowdies who attend every single game (through the zip card swiping thing) so that when the game is sold out, those loyal people can seat in their rowdies seats rather than the gloryhunters who attend only one game.

Wow. My thoughts exactly. The odds of this happening...slim to none. I too was at just about every home game (missed a couple because of working in retail and having some evening shifts) and attended 3 away games. I however did get into the lower seats vs Can't state and the VAST majority of the folks that I was jammed in with, I dont remember seeing at any of the other games. It would be nice for some sort of 'priority' seating for those who support the team all year long. Luckily this year I will have no evening shifts...which means no missed games (at least for basketball). Stil gotta switch some stuff for weekends so I can hit all the football games. Anyone looking for a good manager, 5+ years of experience? Have a job that's Monday thru Friday for said manager and love the Zips? I'm your guy! :D GO ZIPS!
