Lititzlion
They're saying locally that the heavy stuff will be gone by game time. There will be showers but no drenching downpours. And since Penn State is very proud of its Turfgrass program, the field will be fine. It drains very well. You can look forward to a great game on Saturday

WE ARE...
First of all Good Luck tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a close game. You guys are good and should be a great challenge for a eager PSU team. Here is the latest from State College (weather):Rain heavy tonight into Sat morning tapering off around noon. So, come game time...all will be "ok". The field is in excellent condition and drains extremely well. See you guys in Happy Valley tomorrow! flipthezip
Do you keep the field tarped? Also, will they curtail tonights pep rally activities and protect the field?
Lititzlion
Pep rallies are normally indoors, Rec Hall I believe although it's been a long time since I've been to one. Yes, the field will be tarped. I would guess later today with the tarp being removed as soon as possible tomorrow. The field really is one of the best in the nation, drains well and will be fine. flipthezip
I saw where there is a large football kickoff / pep rally sponsored by Sheetz at the Penn St. Stadium tonight. Just hoping they take care of the field.

PSU_Nut
The Pep rally for the staduim was cancelled because of the rain. They could not move it indoors because they expected a crowd of 30,000+. The field has a tarp on it now and will remained tarped untill the rain stops or about 90 minutes before game time. The field has excellent drainage system so even with rain it will still be a good surface. They are very protective of the field in bad weather. If it is raining the band will not be allowed on the field.
